    • Movement tiles size


      How small is too small, when do problems start croping up because of tile size
      and y do they?

    • Problems started for me at 12 * 9.

      16 * 12 was okay.

      You have to check anything in between to see where it starts.

      Would love to have a programmer here to hear what the limits are. Never got a reply from support about my remarks. Or are the moderators people from Ambrosia?

    • One problem that I encountered was the smaller the size of the movement tiles, the more wandering NPCs looked like they were on crack. Anything too much below 16 pixels and NPCs set to "walk around initial position" stumble about, changing directions erratically. Also, setting access tiles at smaller tile sizes is a headache.

      There are probably more significant problems at lower sizes, but these two were enough for me.

    • i was planning on 1616 or 1212 so i'll see about the 12*12

    • I never checked the relation between the map size and the number of tiles. At one point the program starts complaining about having too many tiles (when above 100*100).

      For me that is not that much of a problemsince I planned on using maps of only one screen size.
