    • Yes, fonts have changed

Just so I can be accused of being snotty, yes, the fonts have changed on the web boards.

      😛

    • To be specific, the default font has been changed to Lucida Grande (the OSX default font, with proper anti-aliasing) and the secondary font has been changed to Helvetica. To all the OSX users out there, it'll look quite nice, to the OS9 ones who don't have Lucida Grande installed, I highly recommend that you download it, as Helvetica doesn't look very good in large text blocks. 🙂

(Edit) Thanks RD, a little tired last night. 🙂 (/Edit)

A websearch for "Lucinda Grande" came up ziltch. However, there is a font named "LucidaGrande" (no "n") which might work a little better. 🙂 ~RD

The (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/rduck/")Kingdom of Garendall(/url) sectional map is easily printed from gif format pages.
Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.

    • Well, I came up with ziltch with the font. My 50 year old eyes have trouble reading this. Yeah, I'm complaining a little.

You can download the LucidaGranda font from (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/ashura2hack/win2mac/files/")here(/url). After you install it, you may have to tell your browser to use it(in IE, it is under Tools->Internet Options under the General tab window click on Fonts).

Anyways, the powers that be have made the change, and I don't expect it to be switched.

    • downloaded the font pack (even though it said the site is unavailable i highlighted the link and it came down) i quit all apps and the font still wasnt available then i restarted and it still wasnt available. i dont think the fonts will work for me unless i have the suitcases with them.

i also tried to hack me a font by duping verdana changing the name to Lucia Grande then opening resedit and changing all the inner names saying verdana to Lucia Grande but it still doesnt work. ah well thats what i get for using IE. i remember the old netscape let you force fonts to your will.

Ah... it's so beautiful. Makes the boards much much easier on the eyes! 🙂

(edit)Though I should note, I've lately been seeing some problems with the fonts. It may be just a Mozilla glitch - I haven't bothered actually looking at the HTML source to see if it's a problem with the page itself - but certain threads seem to consistently display with the wrong (too small) font. One such example is the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum48/HTML/001896.html#")Help Please(/url) thread on this board. Is anyone else seeing this?(/edit)

    • Yeah, a smilie with glasses would be great!!!! I happen to have 20/20 vision, but age has crept in. I only wear glasses when I computerize or read. And I can't read the board anymore!!!

The font link didn't work for me, either. Bummed.

Oh well, bye everybody - at least until I can figure this out.

    • that last link helped a bit i think as my computer now recognizes the font, only problem is its not anti aliased etc so it looks scary. ah well. hey deb i think its a bit more readable under IE etc if you make the txt size a bit bigger. i hit cmmd+ and made my size about 12 or 14 or 120% bigger according to IE. i think its readable in a retard sorta way.

    • bleh, freaking techno font, what happened to serif fonts for easy reading.
Oo! ooo!! here's an idea, black text on white BG!

either way its square and its getting bumped, i'd rather read in helvetica.

      ... That staples it.

Quite welcome. Glad to hear it. Although I really can't claim much credit... I found the link in the topic on Ambrosia Banter. 🙂

    • I've bundled the information from this thread and posted a general announcement on the board.

Announcements, for those who have no idea what they are or even that they exist, can be found on the front page of the web board, in the upper right-hand corner just below the "Show topics from last XX days" drop down box.
