    • What is the perfect weapons combination?


      I was thinking about all the different kinds of weapons, I then I was wondering about which weapons would go best on which ships. To be more clear, here are a few questions in greater detail:

      1. What would be the ideal weapon for a fighter?
      2. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a cruiser?
      3. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a gunship?
      4. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a heavy destroyer(HVD)?
      5. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a carrier?
      6. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for an assault transport?
      7. What would be the ideal weapon for a transport?
      8. What would be the ideal weapon for an engineering pod?

      This may also help me in a new plug-in for Ares i'll eventually be making.

      2. The beam for the race. A 100 damage 50 ammo pulse.
      3. The beam for the race. Some kind of powerful weapon in between the crusier's pulse and the Fullerene equivelant.
      4. A Fullerene equivelant(200 damage, 150 ammo). The race's beam. Cloaking/beam/pulse
      5. Launchbay. Some kind of turreted gun. C Missiles
      6. Race's beam. Long range guided weapon. EVAT teams
      7. Nothing/Cloaking/Repulser
      8. Repulser

    • Well each ship in Ares was designed to fit a certain role.

      1. What would be the ideal weapon for a fighter?

      Beam weapon. They all have the generic beam weapon for that race.

      2. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a cruiser?

      Something medium and relatively quick firing, but not much ammo.

      3. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a gunship?

      Something Heavy. Gunships were designed to take out big ships.

      4. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a heavy destroyer(HVD)?

      Real Heavy and fast-fire weapons. Read my HVD topic in the Engineering Forum.

      5. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for a carrier?

      Something turreted and medium powerfull. (anti-fighter)
      Something Long-ranged (usually a guided missile) to take out other carriers

      6. What would be the ideal weapon(s) for an assault transport?

      Something long-range to take out staions
      Fast-firing weapon to defend itself.

      7. What would be the ideal weapon for a transport?

      Trassports should have something light so they're not totally defenseless. Don't give them something so heavy they don't need escorting.

      8. What would be the ideal weapon for an engineering pod?

      Something turreted so it doesn't have to stray off course to the drone just because of a few measly fighters.

    • No no no. I meant "the exact name of the weapon". Here are a few of mine:

      1. Fighter: Lepton Beam. (That would be cool!)

      2. Cruiser: Newo Beam Cannon and Fusion Pulses

      2 variant. Heavy Cruiser: ASB Beam Cannon (Audemedon) and Stealth Field and A Missiles

      3. Gunship: Onas Pulse Gun and Rapid PK Beam Cannon

      4. HVD: Onas Pulse Gun and (Salrilian carrier missile equivilant) and PKB Beam Cannon (Salrilian laser)

      5. Carrier: Trazer Beam Cannon and Fullerene Pulse and Salrilian Fighter Bay

      6. Assault Transport: Rapid Inasa Pulse Cannon and PK Beam Cannon and EVA Team

      7. Transport: Repulsor and Stealth Field

      8. Engineering Pod: Repulsor and Stealth Field

    • Sure, those weapons are great--if you are trying to create a master race! However, I do like the thought of lepton beams on fighters.

    • Of course! That was the whole idea! I was wondering what was the "Perfect" weapons combination for ships in Ares!

      P.S. I also really like the idea of lepton beams on fighters.

    • Put lepton beams, onas pulses, and trazer beams on every ship,if you want the perfect race. Except the carrier, where you can drop the lepton beams in exchange for a fighter bay of the race that has the lepton beams, onas pulses, and trazer beams.

    • There is supposed to be some restrictions! Its not just a cheater, but ideas for weapons that would work well for these ships. NOT a cheater.
