    • Three Questions

I have 3 questions. First if you buy it and don't request a CD (because you would have to wait untill January,) can you request it later? Next, can Coldstone do First-Person? (I really doubt it..... just wanting confirmation.) Last, Can you do a "piloting" level?

Er... scratch the vehicle and first-person questions......

    • 1. - You have to have a CD, it ships with the content. Although it may be possible to register the downloaded version. I just never tried.
      2. - If you were really crafty with your graphics, but you would have tons of location problems, so I'm gonna go with no.
      3. - What's Piloting? Like an airplane? Sure, use an airplane instead of a person, you will pretty much have to fly at 'ground' level though.

    • 1. How could you not want them to ship the CD with your code? They send it anyway free of charge, and even though mine took more than half a year to get to me, I was still glad to get it. They still send you your registration code in email, and very quickly at that. Typically, you can expect your CD to come in just a few weeks.

      2. not with coldstone

      3. If by that you mean 'piloting' some sort of vehicle, then yes—although your options are limited and there will be hard work involved. For example, you can have a ship, that when your player 'boards' it, the ship dissapears and your player turns into a ship, then all landmass has access to it blocked and all sea becomes clear to enter. You could do an airship, but you couldn't make any interesting effects like having the ground appear farther away. In SNES, this was done by a special feature that allowed you to move the camera viewing various 2D objects, so it would appear that they are moving, or being viewed at a different angle or distance. Coldstone does not have such a feature.

    • So if you register via Internet you get the CD no matter what? "The Coldstone CDs are currently being pressed; we expect them to be ready to ship by 1/25/2002."

    • I would guess yes, but I don't know because I used snail mail. I'm still guessin yes though...

    • I don't think so. As I remember it, cd's costed an additional $5.

    • Yes, it ships on cd. From the Coldstone page:
"The full version of Coldstone ships on a CD chocked full of artwork"
      and:
"Price: $49.00 (includes CD shipping costs, world-wide)"

    • Just to clear things up...

      1. Yes you get the CD when you purchase Coldstone. The $49 includes the CD and shipping as DP stated. Your registration code will be e-mailed to you before you get the CD, and you can just register the demo version that you downloaded.

      2. No.

      3. Kind of, as Madman explained. There are some other posts on this subject. Do a search on "racing" games.

    • Hi iFire:

I think that maybe you didn't see that you quoted the shipment of the CD to be in January 2002. Easy thing to overlook. You might get it sooner than January 25, 2003.

Hey everybody! I hope you ALL have a terrific Christmas and New Years season!

      🙂

      Woops, I missed that one.

That is when the original CDs were ordered in and shipped out. The website has not been updated to reflect that the original CDs did arrive. The website also does not reflect current stocks of Coldstone CDs.

My guess is that they press an amount of CDs that they believe the need and ship out CDs when they are ordered. If they run out then they press more. (pretty logical assumption I think)

People's experiences have varied. Some people have waited a long time to receive their CDs. I received mine in about 2 weeks. I suspect it just depends on where you live, and whether they have the CD in stock when you order it.
