Ok Dee, it sounds from what I am hearing that a good workaround would be to try and minimize the number of animations or pictures used. Also, if you are having persistant problems then deleting your preferences for the problematic program can often help.
But sadly with the project I am looking at, between classes, separate animations for different weapons, seperate animations for different attacks, seperate animations for male/female appearances, and doubling the above for a certain extra conditional I have planned, I am currently looking at over 150 animations for characters alone. These character animations will also cover a broad range of the animations needed for NPCs, but it's still a lot in itself, and that is after I decided to give up a lot of extra differences such as age, color sets, and a black mask around certain sprites to simulate lighting limitations. Each of which would have doubled or trippled the above number.
The reason behind such a large number of animations is workarounds for other missing features, which I'm fine with. But it is really saddening to know that after all of the workarounds, there is a bug that kills the project in the end.
But still, it's great to see Dee come out and explain the situation.
