    • Multiplayer is a great idea but I think it would be very difficult for us to do. Would we not have to write a single player version of our game, and a multiplayer version of our game? Not to mention, unless the CGE was supported on something like Gameranger it would be very hard to find players to play with.

Thanks for the insightful comments Sanehatter.

    • What are you people bickering about? Mac vs PC? Well I have only one thing to say...
The people who use BOTH are MUCH more intelligent.

Sure, PC-only users are exceedingly dumb, But Mac-only users are JUST AS DUMB. Therefore I conclude that only people who use both Mac and PC are truly intelligent.

    • Heeeeey Haven't been here in a long time since my fav message board re opened GamingForce.com.

Then I must be a god cus I do have a mac and pc but its a pain in the arse to swich monitor cables keyboards mouses esc.

The PC version is a good idea but People will make additions or mods of some type and make it a windows only game basically. Hey Mac gave pc users uhhh errrr.... Well I know that gave them SOMETHING! Can't remember what it is... Also will Coldstone be abel to do random battles? I know lots o people hate but thats the heart of rpgs! It isn't the same fighting diablo and fighting one winged angle sepheroth! Random battles provide easy experience and also you can easily run from them like eminies in diablo cus from what I am seeing this is going to be a diablo type game maker not an rpg one. I'll still get it just I am not going to be abel to fully express my self though hand drawn enmies 🙂 (I can scan em in and paste em on to a skin or sumthin.)

To shanhatter I guess your refering to unreal tournament.

    • Look.you guys ALL make me laugh..I beleive that making a game purly for MAC is selfish, since you go on and saying "yes can play Windows blah blah blah" I also understand that MAC don't get a lot of games, BUT hell People if MYTH2 cqan do it why can't you do this ffs, i mean come on, this looks like a brilliant idea and game, so why not share the love 🙂

P.S ya may have go this a couple billion times but will ANY programming be needed?

    • I am all for porting Coldstone to not only Windows, but Linux as well. I do realize that this will add to Ambrosia's development time, but in the end, I think it's worth it. DarkBlade, your main argument for not porting it is the idea that all PC users will make poor games. In my opinion, not only is that view slightly prejudiced, it's also quite blinkered. Look at all the great commercial PC games, they were made on a PC and are of a very high quality.

Sure there are gonna be some turkey's made by Windows users if CGE is ported, but there will be bad games made by the Mac users, it isn't a matter of 'our operating system is better than yours' it's a case of not everybody being an amazing computer game designer/developer.

There will be no coding , as in typing code into a text file, but there will be programming, just in a GUI Enviroment.

    • I don't believe anyone would not release a game for both platforms....when it's as simple as x'ing in a box, why not?

Yes, it means that you can use Coldstone to make games that run on Windows.

    • When I saw that little Windoze icon I was like nooo.... Not because I hate PC users but because us Mac users feel like Ambrosia is ours, something we have that the PC world don't. I think Ambrosia know what are they are doing, and we all know people that when the line is drawn, they will be standing on the Mac side!

Anyway, the reason Mac users 'hate' PC users is not because they use PC's, but because a lot of them are arrogant, I hate arrogant people. There are good and bad points of both platforms.

I think we know what we're doing. Coldstone is a tool for creating games. As such, it is a huge boon to be able to create games using it that will run on both the Mac and Windows.

Yes, and it's in AmbrosiaSW's best interest to do this; those of you who oppose AmbrosiaSW developing utilities/games that can run on Windows need to understand that in the world of business, petty biases get you nowhere.

Everything in the universe strikes a balance, whether it be society, nature, or people's lives. It is the moments created to strike that balance that land in the history books. Somehow, we never seem to remember the balancing act of life as a whole, instead we remember the events that rebalanced the scale. Have we not learned that unbalancing the scale in the first place will just cause an event to rebalance it?

I don't hate windows users at all. Some of my best friends use windows. (In a world where 9 out of 10 computers is a windows, its kinda hard not to have windows friends. 🙂 ) I personaly love the fact that Coldstone has been made with the wisdom to let us release our games for windows and mac, for I would want my PC friends to play it to. Thanks!

    • The reason that there will not be a PC version is that the PC seems to be able to use anything this is an example of something they can't use look in our shoes they have so many programs that the mac can't use so I think it's a good thing that there is no PC version.

    • I am making my game for Macs and PCs so I am not being selfish. Just to let you know. 🙂

Releasing for PCs isn't bad , just that the PC users probably won't bother to compile for macs. I hope they will compile it for us.

If Beenox/ASW think it is appropriate, then they will. If not, whatever, they don't, some mac users get to laugh in PC users' faces. I like telling people I am making my own game with a software program. Then they are like what program. Then I say "only for macs". And then they stop in their tracks. But that's just me. I wouldn't mind if they released it for PCs.

Everyone, stop being so mad about these PCs. Jee wiz. It's not their fault if they're stupid. 😉
