I'd imagine so
if you were to use it to do the obligatory long dialog scene..
but i don't believe you can use flash for sprites etc,
for instance you'd make a .swf file that contained the left facing portion of the walking animation, that would make it only one frame of animation...whoo hoo but you know have to add in the added size of the format. I asked the same question regarding .GIF files a long long time ago...i had began to work on the animations and realized that i was doing the same amount of work either way.
My advice if you want to shoot a cut scene using other than inGame sprite sets
then i suggest using flash. But for the most part just stick to normal scripting & .png/pict.
