      Hi!
I just downloaded Coldstone engine and I am playing with it right now.
It looks like it has problem with Windows export.
If I start exported game on Windows it crashes immediately with this message:
      Unhandled exception: c000094
      At address: 00417349
      Mac version works perfect!
What are windows system requirements for games created with Coldstone?
Is it really 100% Win compatible?

      Regards
      Srdjan

The requirements are (you could check in the manual for that) DirectX 8.0 and Quicktime as well as any windows but 3.1 and NT (2000 is fine though). You exported it with the Build Release option right? Maybe an image you use is unsupported (like dpi or something - again, refer to the manual for that, it is explained in details). Try checking the "Compress picture data" option in the build dialog. This will convert all your pictures to a windows friendly format in case you have something wrong.

    • Hi Dee!

Thank you for you reply, but...
      ...the problem is still there.
I checked "Compress picture data" but I am still having that "Unhandled Exception..." error. When I click OK I can see this message:

MY GAME caused a divide error in module MY GAME.EXE at 0167:0041730e.

      I am using Win98(4.10, Build 2222)
      DirectX 8.0(4.08.00.0400)

Any ideas? I really want to see how this thing looks on Windows machines.
      Regards

Very, very strange since we didn't have any problem at all on windows here. I'm pretty sure it's something missing/incorrect in the game but that's hard to debug on a webboard ;). Could you pack the whole original game folder (not the win release version) and send it to me at deebrown@beenox.com? If it's too big, don't include the "Pictures" directory.

    • Oh, and please include in your email what your game is supposed to do (display a splash screen, go straight into a map, or else).

    • Hi again 🙂

It is not my game! I am talking about "Medieval" demo game included in Coldstone download.
What I did is that I just opened that game and created Mac and Win exe files. On Mac it works perfect. On Windows I am getting this error.
Do I have to send you whole thing, because it is something that you already have on your server? (it is not problem for me to send it)

    • Hi,

I also have the same problem, the exception occuring just shortly after selecting Start Game. I followed and built the tutorial game. Works great on the Mac, was anxious to see the behavior under Windows. The exception error led me to this web board and found this posting.

Has anyone determined what the cause may be, or a workaround?

Andimal, this problem is one that is being addressed in CS version 1.0.1, which will be out in severaldays or weeks, from what I hear. Just wait till then, and you should be able to make a game under Windows.

On a side note, kudos for searching for this, and welcome to the boards. 🙂
