    • The Coldstone Construct

Well, here's the deal of it -- we like only Coldstone related topics on this board, but I thought it might be fun to create a "bar" where everyone can talk about personal things, what happened in their day, if they got a new girlfrend, etc. 🙂

I just think it'd be cool to know the people who post on this board a little more...

Therefore, hi everyone! My name is Seth Claus, and I am a senior in high school (don't know how to describe it to foreigners tho...). I like to do a little bit of programming (my biggest project is in my sig), and have fun in general. 🙂 I'm hoping to get a big fat scholarship to go to college! 🙂

      That's a great idea!
My name's Shari Fedak, I'm 19, I've graduated from high school and subsquently dropped out of university. :o. I know, bad Shari. Bad! I'm a composer and an artist and decidedly the biggest nerd I know! I can also fix almost anything. I also am a total fan of Iron Chef. I love video games. I can program in Basic, Visual Basic, Pascal, and C, though I hate debugging. I really hate debugging. With a passion!
I'm also very happily married as of two months ago. 🙂

      ------------------
For every beautiful answer there is an even more beautiful question.

    • Wow, Shari- married at 19? I could barely tie my shoes back then!

I waited until I was 31. Been married three years, it's great.

I work for a large, Mouselike company in Los Angeles. Part of my job is overseeing art for our online games. I'm looking forward to Coldstone to enable me to make my own games-- art supplied by me, of course!

In my spare time I ride motorcycles and (infrequently) update my motorcycle lifestyle website, (url="http://"http://www.labiker.com")LABiker.com(/url)

    • Oh, what the spoon, I'll go too.

I'm your typical late-twenties know-it-all. I got my bachelor's in fine art, but I've worked on a wide variety of projects since then, print, web, music, film, etc. I'm currently not where I should be (in Grad School), but working as a computer tech for a cutting-edge biomedical nonprofit in San Francisco.

Besides the game I'm working to make with Coldstone, I'm also putting together a solo experimental electronic music album and creating an animated short to go with one of the pieces on it.

I had proposed to my girlfriend of four years, but that didn't work out. <sarcasm>Now I'm once again experiencing the joys of single life.</sarcasm>

    • Ya know GlueBubble, you shouldn't have mentioned the word "bar" here... I'm having to keep my EVO board portion from nuking the place.

But enough of the craziness. I'm a freshman in high school. Involved in band and theatre. Marched in the Varsity show this year and am trying out for all region band on the junior - senior level. Definitly going to be at least minoring in journalism and trying to decide on an engineering or musical degree. Currently flirting with another freshman and a sophmore. I have a chance with both, even better. Am also contemplating a Coldstone game with Tarnaelion Andiyarus.

Hello to you all. My name happens to be Ben Thomas, and I am currently engaged in my final exams of high school before moving on to university next year. (Only one to go, thank God!) I plan to do something involving biotechnology or another biological science at uni, possibly with an additional arts major in history or philosophy, or even a creative arts major. Am currently single (sigh) without much in the way of romantic prospects (another sigh). I enjoy (and even prefer) mostly solitary entertainment, such as reading, but seem to naturally relate to almost any person I come across. ::shrugs:: I've fiddled a bit with Photoshop and various 3D modelling stuff, and realised that my artistic talent in those fields is practically zero. I recently created a major project for my 4 Unit English course in Macromedia Director 8, which was essentially an incredibly detailed (and pretty!) interactive story. (If you visit the Chronicles board, you may have read part of it!)

At the moment, once my exams are done, I'm contemplating writing more than I presently do due to time constraints, and as Celchu mentioned we're flirting with the idea of collaborating on a Coldstone game/univers/story, maybe even a series, who knows.

I work as a librarian and try to finish my courses to graduate in Contemporary History it will take at least three years, i fear). My passions (a part my wife) are sailing, hiking, rpgs, strategical boardgames, and computer ones. • My name is Mike Hurley. I'm a 26 year old copywriter, and no that doesn't mean I sit around assign a little Š to different things all day long ;-).

I've spent the last year developing various mods for the game Myth II: Soulblighter with a very talented group of artists, scripters, and programers. It is likely that some of us will will collaborate on a Coldstone game in the future. I'm one of the multi-discipline guys in the group though I mostly focus on level design. I use Photoshop and a varitey of 3D apps for my artsy work and Quark with PDF Distiller for really exiting things like ReadMe documents :-D. I have almost zereo website development skill and I like it that way.

My other interests include literature, film, cooking, music, and the occasional outdoor adventure. I also love games of all types. I'm currently trying to decide what game console to buy... I'm leaning towards an X-box.

    • Good idea Gluey.

I'm in my first year of sixth form college studying Art, Film Studies, English Lit and Pyscology. I'm in a little Hip Hop Group with two other DJ's, and hip hop is one of my passions, along with basketball, computer shiznit and graffiti. My ideal night: broads, booze and bud. 🙂

    • I am Luke. I'm a sophomore in highschool right now(15 yrs old, could you tell?). I really enjoy drawing and being with people. I've been having a really rough time in the past week, so I'll be trying to hold back sarcasm, cynicism, and downright negativity if I can. Um, I think this was a good idea GlueBubble, or Seth. Thank you for revealing the humans behind our posts : )

    • Well I can join in and reveal my secret identity also, I guess. I'm Brett, freshman in College and a "Graphic Design and Interactive Communication" major. I have alot of experiance in Flash animation, and a bit in 3D modelling and animation. I obviously am really into art, and game development. Also writing and storytelling. I have around 3 storylines for 3 possible games, as well as concept art for each, it's just a matter of which one to persue first. I am really into music, and techno creation. My party nights include the same as Necro's ( The Essential Three B's). Interested in collaborating with others in an initial Coldstone creation. Now when can we pre-order...heh.

Hmmmm... I'll talk with Celchu about this, Brett, but if you're interested we might be able to offer a collaboration attempt. We've been kicking the idea around, and neither of us are artists, we're both writers. Anyway, I'll see what he thinks and get back to you! 🙂

    • Well... and why not, I'm in 🙂 (there you go for my first exclusive personal web report).

I am Dee Brown, current project lead for Coldstone and Pillars of Garendall (picture of me available (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/ubb/newsdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number;=14&forum;=*The+Ambrosia+Times+Newsletter&DaysPrune;=25&article;=000046&startpoint;=")here(/url)). I am 23 and I work on Coldstone since about 4 years. I originally started this project to create my first RPG and finally decided to focus on creating a great game (not only RPG!) creator that would be just powerful and easy to use for everyone. Meanwhile, I got hired by Artificial Mind and Movement (A2M - (url="http://"http://www.a2m.com)")www.a2m.com)(/url) for which I worked as a playstation tool programmer and engine programmer for about 2 years. They decided to move from Quebec to Montreal and I decided to take the opportunity to start my own game development studio (a project that I planned for a long time), in Quebec (Canada) of course (that why my English isn't quite perfect, my natural language is French). We opened our offices in October 2000 and are still up and running with quite a bit of success. We are currently 6 employees working full time there but I am still the younger (so was I at A2M), sob. All of them but one were past co-worker from A2M. As you see, I'm not so much older than most of you and I hope that Coldstone will help you create your dream game and/or get introduced in the game industry.

More recent news: I worked hard to package a new Coldstone beta (5) which was released 2 days ago. I wanted to update the progress log but now I'm just too tired and will go get some sleep before I fall dead on my keyboard. I'll probably do it tomorrow, stay tuned. The update to Pillars of Garendall is coming very soon too.

The release is close, good luck all.

    • Well, here goes nothing.
My name is Kerry M. Allen (yes I am a male) and I'm a sophomore in highschool. I'm 15 years old. I'm active in a lot of musical and art related activities. I love to sing and act__ mostly because I excell in both. I play the trombone in my school's band, it's jazz band, and it's marching band. I'm very into artwork especially computer art. I know how to use Poser 4, Mechanisto, Amapi and a few other 3D modeling programs. I'm also very adept in Photo shop and just about any 2-Dimensional art program created. I like to write stories and poetry and I'm pretty good at writing if I do say so myself. Ofcourse, I love to play video games and computer games. The only thing I like more than playing computer games is editing them and making them my own. That is why I love Coldstone and I can't wait for it's release. I'm very pleased to know of the new release Dominic. It's nice to finally meet all of you.
      -Kerry

      ...Mouselike company...

Hey, what's that supposed to mean?!

    • Hello, my name is Robert. I'm 19 and I work as a mechanic's assistant at a garage and am currently taking a semester off from school. I'm going back next semester to take some math and english courses as well as a hardware troubleshooting course.

I enjoy mountain biking, rock climbing, ice skating, hiking, backpacking, camping, caving, and many other outdoor activities. I spend a goodly amount of time at the gym each week just because I find it takes my mind off of things.

I'm currently single but have had two girlfriends in my life. I'm not sure whether or not I'm looking for a relationship at this time because sometimes I feel that I just enjoy my own company more than that of people. Overall I really don't like people and find them to be a nuisance.

I'm 5'11" tall, I weigh 220 pounds as of this post. I have brown hair if I don't shave my head, a full brown beard, glasses, hazel eyes with a green rim around the centers, and my favorite color would be either purple or green. I prefer black to both however, but it's not a color.

Well, that's all I really feel like sharing right now.
