    • new Forest_Base tiles for you to download

As I announced earlier on this board, I've created new versions of the Forest_Base tiles.
Took way more time then expected!
You are welcome to have a look at/download/use them: (url="http://"http://home.wanadoo.nl/wim48/coldstone.htm")http://home.wanadoo....8/coldstone.htm(/url)
Please tell me what you think of them, how should I improve them etc.
Do you think they are worthy of uploading to the Coldstone addon-page?
I plan to create more tiles like these, especially to be able to use earth-water edges, instead of just grass-water edges.

Although I stated otherwise, please forget about e-mailing me, I'd rather read your feedback on this webboard! Thanks!

nice job, but they really resemble the original (i'm talking pre Ambosia) forest tiles /stamps

    • Great job. Its nice to have some variety.

How hard was it to make them?

    • EXCELLENT.
I really like your color choices-- warmer, brighter. Good for a lighter, free-er feel. Perfect for a map with a change of mood.

Nice job, I hope more people post their artwork. I think what we really need are more original interiors-- I haven't seen the disc yet, of course, but once you've seen an interior, you've seen it-- its done. Outsides can be more varied if a tile-user is imaginative.
SO-- If I was going to make a request for a NEXT project... it would be draw us two or three thousand various interiors.
      🙂

It wasn't very hard, but took a lot of time. I started off cloning the original ones, but had to find the most efficient way to create my own tiles, so that no edges are visible when you use them. Main complication was, that I was stupid enough not to work from backup files: I used Painter for drawing, Painters' colormanagement differs a lot from Graphic Converters', which I used for reducing bit depth. Each and every time I saved the 16-bits version in Converter it turned out brighter than it was before, in Painter. Now I use Photoshop which doesn't have those problems, colors remain like they were in Painter.

Thanks everybody who takes the time to post! 🙂
