    • Dei'nar, you said there are three programs like this for the PC (at least for making RPG's), but you didn't say what they were. I'm just curious as to what they are. I came across one thing called RPG Toolkit Development System, but from a cursory look at it, it doesn't seem nearly as advanced as what coldstone seems to be able to do.

The only specific product I can think of are those RPG Maker games for the playstation and gameboy.

As I said, I'm sure there are other things somewhat like this, but I'm not aware of anything of particularly high quality.

I think this is really a pretty monumental produt release.....could do for game development what HyperCard did for consumer developed applications, in a way.

I know what you mean... But then I had exactly the same thought when "Klik and Play" came out for Windows (and was even more excited once it came out for the Mac). Sadly, that turned out to be completely useless when it came to making a game that was actually any good (as my freeware versions of Pong and Donky Kong made clear...)

Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited about the release of Coldstone, and I'm looking forwared to playing stuff made by it (especially PoG plug-ins), I'm just not so sure that it will revolutionise game-creation too much...
