      I want to make new tiles but i'm a bit confused.
      Do i make them in an isometric view like Baldur's Gate, or in a topdown format like Cythera.

      you can make them any way you please. since the engine is completely 2D, the only difference will be in the perception of the viewer. isometric and orthographic tiles will be treated exactly the same by the engine.

    • Although, you should probably be aware that somewhere in the history of this board (sorry, can't pull up the exact post, as search is still broken), it was mentioned that Isometric perspective would be a little trickier to implement.

      But from what I've, um, seen of the screenshots so far, it shouldn't be TOO much trickier.

    • sanehatter, I think andrew said that he took search offline because it used too much CPU power. I don't know if this means we will never have it back (ouch, that's a lot of golden topics down the drain) or if it will come back later.

    • So will Coldstone work on OS 9.0.4? I know a lot of people who don't have OS X and they want to get it after I told them about it.

      How about on an old G2(original PPC?) with 8.0 (maybe 8.5)?

      Yes.

      But what the hell is a G2? Did you just think that up as you were typing?
      The g3 was the first one with the 'G' name. :rolleyes:

      g2 = 604
      g1 = 603

      however, apple didn't use the "Generation" codec until the G3, which is otherwise known as the 605. the G4 is actually a different chip design, so it could not be refered to as the 606.

      Actually, I believe that the G3 was named the 750, not the 605. And the G4 has been issued in two different versions, those being the 7400 and the 7450.

      These come from the names:

      -PowerPC 603e
      -PowerPC 604
      -PowerPC 750
      -PowerPC 7400
      -PowerPC 7450

      I think I'm right....... 🙂

      Pretty close. "G1" would mean the PowerPC 601, the first PowerPC processor. "G2" would be the PowerPC 603/604 series, G3 is the PowerPC 740 and 750, and G4 is the PowerPC 7400 and 7450.

    • "G1" is 601, 603 & 604 (first PM's up to PM9500/180or200)
      "G2" is 603e & 604e (the rest of the PM's up too PM9600/350)
      "G3" is 750 (maybe 740 too, not sure) (PM G3 beige, b&w;, iMac, powerbook, ibook)
      "G4" is 740, 7410, 7450 (740 in the first g4's, 7410 in the pb & 7450 in the new ones)

      just so you know.

    • Haha, I remember the 601... That was one processor that made me a little scared Apple would be moving to PPC only. 🙂

      You could talk about making a game where your weapon is a Macintosh, and you constantly need to keep up with the latest and greatest, and you want to know how to render the chips. 😃

      Seriously, though, please stop the shop talk.
