When playing multiplayer, should I try to capture stations or just attack when I use up my resources?

Is this a trick question?
Depends on if you want a long game or a short one. If you want a long one, capture the bunkers. If you want a short one, charge when you run out of resources.

Personally, I find that it depends on your species. With humans, because the best tactic is the transport magnet thing, it's best to build an ATR, and send all your gunships to follow it. If your opponent attacks for a rush game, you can usually beat off the attack/destroy them completely and win. If you don't completely destroy your enemy, then you at least get a bunker station. Capturing planets is really rare in multiplayer, but transports are great magnets for attack as stated all over the place.
I don't know what my record is now, but at one point it was 666 kills:555 loss at 5:55 hours:minutes. I have a screenshot of that, I thought it was hillarious. Of course, my prefs file got fried when I installed Hera, so I now have nothing because I can't play on the net anymore either...

In the olden days, I had a 1200:400 record. No longer. It's more like 50:10 or something. I just don't play multiplayer that much anymore.
Yes, capturing the bunker stations is a personal thing, depending on the length of the game. Just make sure you don't cripple yourself doing it- otherwise the game will be short.

My record is horrible. I think my losses are about 1.75 times my kills. Mostly because I usually play as gaitori against others who are using a better race. I still win. There should be a part of your score that shows how many games you've played and how losses and wins you have. That would be much more accurate.
