    • User Manual - Instructions PDF

Can you please post where I could download the PDF manual to the Coldstone Beta (which is available from tucows.com).

Got a beta from June 2000 from Tucows, but no instructions!

Would like to play around a bit, but can't find the docs anywere!

Thank You if you can help!

    • Usual reply, that is the pre-Ambrosia beta and much has changed. If you would still like it as a toy to play around with, I have the .pdf instructions. Email me (saphfires@hotmail.com) if you would like them. They aren't very intuitive in describing functions, but are great for navigating the interface. For the former, you would need the tuturial game, which alas, I did not download.

    • You would have what is known as the "old beta." FWIW, I can't find it on Tucows anymore. It is officially not available any more, and for a good reason. Similar deal with the manual.

Coldstone has changed quite a bit since the summer of 2000. This is a good thing. There is really no point to playing around with the old beta, there is nothing to be gained by it, because Coldstone has changed so much. Anything you create in it now would have to be completely re-created when Coldstone 1.0 is released.

Also, FWIW, I don't think Andrew or Dee would appreciate people distributing the old manual, it is not available anymore for a reason.

    • If I've offended anyone by the offer, I'm terribly sorry. I will not distribute anything without the author's permission. I was merely responding to a cry for help from a fellow friend. Even if it isn't useful, the old Coldstone is fun, and has vintage value.

      Thank you for the information!

My nephew needs a summer project, and I suggested Coldstone!

I just wanted to help him along - actually I am interested in this fantastic RPG development system as well! So many times I have played games and had a long wish list for how the content "should" have been done. Now we can test to see if we have the right stuff to make truly addicting adventures.
