Oh, it's powerful, all right. But if you'll read the progress log, you'll see that the Coldstone feature set (what we know of it) doesn't really seem to match up with the features of FF6. In some ways it's much more versatile; in others, much more limited. Still, with enough creativity, you could probably make a reasonable approximation.

true. Although the CGE certainly has the graphal power to make something like FF6 (and many things far, far in advance of it), it might not be suited to the task. CGE will generate fully realtime games -- there will be no built in support for turn based battle systems like those in FF6. There also would appear to be no option to create parties (the current information available shows only a single character, as in Diablo), which was a key factor in FF6 as well as most other turnbased RPGs.
However, I'm willing to bet (as are many others) that within a few months of Coldstone's release people will have found ways of creating these features outside of the normal channels in which Coldstone was designed to operate. And of course people will be swapping the best cheats and hacks for CS all over these boards as soon as they can find them. So, just stick around and you'll learn everything you need to learn.
