    • PoG length

What's the estimated playing time of this I'm curious? Is it insanely short like Star Trek Elite Force? (12 hours) Nicely sized like Deus Ex/Diablo 2? (30 hours) Or insanely huge like Baldur's gate? (500,000,000+ hours, I'm on the third chapter and have invested insane amounts of time into this game... Somebody told me there are 12 chapters... Good grief, I'll be playing this when I'm 40.)

And to those of you wondering, yes, I record my playing time, and yes, I play at the hardest difficulty level in any given game.

I consider myself a hardcore gamer, but GameSpy informed that I was just a "Game enthusiast" I took their survey, to qualify as a hardcore gamer, you've got to log 20+ hours in game at a given sitting! Gah! There's no way I could do that. 8 hours is my max, after that I've got to go 3D modeling and get some creative ideas out before I can go back to gaming. (One can only accept so much input before they have a overwhelming urge to give some output.)

But back to the original question, estimated length of PoG?

    • There's only 6 chapters in BG, 7 in BG2.

    • Well that's somewhat of a relief!

    • actually, there are 7 chapters in BG 1. but the 6th chapter is really only about 1 - 2hrs long, and the 7th chapter is one big fight with Mr. Bad Guy that might last an hour (it's a big fight...)

as for PoG: it's going to be released as a full commercial product, so, although I have no actuall hourage for you, take these facts into account: it's supposed to be the showcase for the CSE, so all stops will be pulled; and, it's from Ambrosia, so just keep EVO in the back of your mind when considering PoG.

I'm a beta tester, so if I'm allowed to tell people that much then I will when I find out. That's a big if though.

It's also gonna end up taking 100+ megs of hard drive space. That is gonna be one BIG game.

    • That's 100+Mb compressed. A good estimate would be double that uncompressed. I've played many games larger than that, but they all came on CD(s)

    • Diablo 2, after all the patches, movies, sounds, and other data involved, totals....
1.1 gigs of space, although that did come on 4 cds.

hmmm.... thank god I got cable a while ago, might only take overnight.
