      The beta version should have complete functionality -- but it will be buggy, and some areas may be a bit unrefined.

      Contrast this with a "public beta" which generally means "It isn't finished yet"

      OK, so if I told you I just got my layoff notice from a major dot-com company last Thursday (along with 50% of the office -- but I can't mention Britannica by name, oh damn!) and really needed something to pick me up (as well as a new job) ... would that constitute begging? 🙂
