    • How far will it go?

From the FAQ and other postings this game maker looks like it can do alot,
but how big of a world could it make, what im looking to do is something as big as Final Fantasy 5, with the world changing in parts of the game, will this be able to do somesthing along this line? and since your still working on the battle section of the program, from what you know, could it be possable to make the battle screen along the lines of the Final Fantasy games?

    • It is certainly possible to make the map and enviroments similar to Final Fantasy V (great game BTW) but I'm not too sure about the battle engine, I think thats fairly restrictive to a Realmz style. I'm not positive though, so don't give up yet.

    • well if the battle system wont do that kind of interface (but it better 🙂 ) mabe something like the battle system for FF3 for gameboy would be cool

    • how about multiple kinds of battle systems that you can choose from. since the battle system would have to be different depending on what kind of game you were making..

Thats a given, I just want the ability for a certain setup for my own game, but we have no idea yet on how technical the battle system can be made. There are more complex battle systems in some games but I just would like something like FF since its such a strait forward setup.

    • yea. battle systems shouldn't be too complicated... unless you really wanted it.

    • Here's a window from the interface editor in Beta 8.1 with the encounter (fighting) dialouge from EV: Ground Zero in. The boxes with the grey lines are just fields that define where the information goes. You'll have to forgive the por quality, I was in a hurry.

    • I also have a question about how far it will go:

I know it's not even in beta, so, if it wasn't implemented in the original Coldstone, consider this a suggestion. Will there be a way to make the player invisible, or at least make the enemies unable to see them? Like, they walk into an enemy fortress but, since they're using the "invisibility potion" or something, the enemies won't attack them. Would anything like this be possible? Or could any of this be possible?

Ahh, it can make a Realmz style game? Question for me then : How much?

Also I would like to know how easy is it to use? I will create something but I need to know how easy it is to use.

How strange... To have gone so far and to want so little.

    • Okay, I thought of another one: Will you be able to have escorts, like in EV? I mean, can I have the player with a group of characters creating a D&D; style game?

If you mean how much it will cost to register, then I'm gonna wait for andrew to release this one, I don't want to start any rumours. I do have a rough idea though.

As for ease of use, although the current copy has changed A LOT from the one I have, it is very easy to use. The hardest part is probably the event editor, which controlls what actually happens in the game. Even this is just a case of drag and drop though. If you can opperate Hera, then this will be a piece of cake.
