    • A few questions

First of all, I would like to thank the people who are creating this incredibly kick *** program! Makes PC users look like morons with their crappy RPG Toolkits and their crappy illegally pirated RPG Maker 2000s.

      Anyway...

      1. Will mp3's be one of the music formats useable by Coldstone?

      2. Will it be possible to make it so wizards have to take a turn or so to cast magic, instead of just instantly casting the spell after you select the command. And if so, will I be able to make it so that if a wizard gets hit while charging a spell, he will loose his concentration and won't finish casting the spell?

      3. Will I be able to edit the combat algorithms used by the program? For example: if the formula used for damage inflicted by a physical attack was: 'Attacker's Strength + Strength of Attacker's Weapon - Target's Defence - Strength of Target's Armor', or something like that, could I change the formula to something else?

      4. Will I be able to make it so the player gets to choose what stats to increase when a character gains a level (like in Diablo I).

      5. Will the RPG designer be able to control when the player can and cannot save, or will the players always be able to save anywhere at any time?

First of all, I am one of those PC users, who also happens to own a Mac.

Now, in response (I happen to have been one of the privilaged ones who happened to be part of Beenox's Beta test)

      1. It has been discussed, but it was not so in b8.1 (of course things have changed a lot)
      2. Don't you just hate when that happens to you in a game, but I think that has already been put in.
      3. Umm, okay whatever. (don't worry, I know what you are talking about, but I am not Dee, so I could not answer that one)
      4. Through event scripting this is entirely possible. In fact, I was already going to include something like it in my game
      5. Yep, you can disable the save command that is in the file menu, and then you can use an event to save the player's progress whenever you want.

      ------------------
If it's not on fire, its a software problem.

    • Hey, some questions that have been circling in my mind have already been asked and answered. Hmmm, the spell disruption makes it more realistic (even though spells really aren't realistic). The other answers go to questions that I would have asked after a month of fiddling around with the program. Thanks you two, you saved me from asking more.

How strange... To have gone so far and to want so little.

Sorry about that, I just get angry sometimes when I hear PC users saying Macs suck all the time. Thanks for the help.

    • Ok, one more question:

      1. How serious will character death be in the games you can make? I mean in Realmz and the Exile series when one of your characters died you couldn't cast Raise Dead until the battle was over, making it very unfavorable to let one of your characters get killed. But like in the Final Fantasy series, for example, if someone died you could just use a Pheonix Down or cast a Life spell on your next turn, making death much less of a problem.

      ------------------

    • Or if they die and are able to be ressurected, do their items lay on the ground, or in a corpse?

      ------------------

    • I guess only Dee can answer the questions about character death, since v8.1b didn't allow more than one character on your party... will the next release?
