Couldn't it also be possible that both traitors are on the South?

@darth_vader, on Jan 7 2008, 04:01 PM, said in Global Thermonuclear War:

No. Why would they have eliminated so many Northerners? Also, that would unbalance it just as much as if both traitors were Northern. There must be two evil players, one in the South and one in the North.

I think this is a typo. Did you mean "Why would they have eliminated so many Southerners?"

Also Mack, darth hasn't voted yet.

I said as much and my post vanished. I suspect a nfreader-type conspiracy.

    • Fine, darth has until I get home from work around midnight. If he doesn't vote then, well, then too bad.

Yes, that's a typo. I was agreeing with you.

I'll go 1Eevee1. It was a tossup, really, so sorry.

You know, if there's another tie now, the Dictators will likely get another Night-Kill this round.

Anon is dying at the end of this round, because of last rounds Night-Kill, leaving only Five still-alive players. This rounds Night-Kill will push it down to Four.

Under normal rules, the Dictators would win.

      Meh. What the heck.

      1Eevee1.

    • 1Eevee1 and RJC Ultra are both found dead. This leaves us with three remaining players.

Also, both of the above were innocent.

    • I can't say I'm too happy about Eugene Chin's evil laughter, but since there are only three of us left and no evil players have been killed, I'll be outvoted no matter what, or if they want to play with me, they'll nightkill me tonight. Looks like Eugene and SIB were the dictators.

      You are correct.

For my part, I have to say that the Civil-War angle shifted the game far too much in the Dictators favor.

It discouraged the normal banter and "nominating" process by providing a prescribed set of pre-determined enemies, ready to jump on an opposing player over any utterance. It also acted to polarize the vote, as each 'side' tried to focus its energies against a single target on the other 'side,' rather than trying to find the Dictators, which would have divided their energies and left themselves vulnerable to the combined efforts of the other 'side.'

Eight players just isn't enough to support that kind of behavior.

Even those who had suspected me (like Anon, and I suspect darth_vader did too) chose to try and eliminate a Southern Dictator rather than take a chance aiming at one in their own midsts.

      Oh. One last thing:

Join the Dark Side, darth_vader! It is the only way too save yourself!

    • Since we all know the outcome, Game XV is now over.

Yeah, the Civil War angle kinda messed things up. It's not nearly as even as I'd like it to be, though perhaps we could find alternate ways to vote or whatnot.

For my part, I'm surprised you guys never suspected Eugene Chin, especially in the later votes. But that's life.

    • Anon openly stated that he suspected me.

True, but was it serious speculation? That's what I meant.

    • I knew it, dammit.
As soon as Eugene Chin voted for 1Eevee1, I knew it.

      ...

I was right for the first time in my life.
