It's been known (by me, at least) since about a week after the game came out. I first ran into it explicitly while trying to get the Super Wave after posting my Interesting Screenshot thread, and found myself able to shoot through walls when the framerate hiccupped. The first explicit mention of it that I can find is this post, 12 days after the game's release, although I'm sure I knew of it earlier.
