    • Humans vs. Gaits

      Fighter: Even. They both suck.

Cruiser: The UNS cruiser's shields are better and it has two weapons and plenty of ammo for its ammo gun. The Gait gun is damaging, but the cruiser moves like
a sick cow. UNS wins by a medium margin.

Gunship: The Human gunship is deadly at close range, and both weapons are effective. The Gait's pulse is very powerful, but its shields and secondary
weapon are wanting. UNS by a small margin.

HVD: They're all similar, I suppose...

Carrier: The Gait carrier is obviously pathetic, so the UNS carrier beats it hands down.

    • Have you ever played a net game? There are some corrections that as an avid human player I must make.

      1. The human cruiser is by far better. Longer range, weapons that don't completely drain the energy reserves in a few seconds of fire.... not dead in the water engine...

2.Gunship: The gaitori gunship is NOTHING on the human one. Human gunships are some of the best in the game, whereas the gaitori ones have no shields and a pitiful weapon.

    • Don't underestimate the gatori gunship, groups of hem can kick. But the human kicks it so much. Don't the human ones have, like 3000 sheild or something? What are human HVDs like? i like gatori HVDs but their sheilds suck. The carriers suck cause of no auto track weapons. Another thing on the gatori gunships, they are pretty powerful with the fusion pulde and it homes in well.

    • Also human fighters are better than gatori because they actualy look cool.

    • The fusion thing may track well and do decent damage, but it fires too slowly to be worthwhile, at least against a human gunship. Plus, a human gunship has a bunch more shields, and its weapons are better rounded, and it's a lot faster firing. It kills both carriers and cruisers with equal brutality, and it'smore than a match for most gunships.

The Human HVD is pretty good, the Gaitori one is better though. The human HVD has the usual long range weapon, which is not autotracking, the laser turret which is the human trademark, and a magneto pulse launcher. The gaitori one is better. All HVDs have crappy shields in comparison to other expensive ships.

    • If you are piloting the Gait Gunship, and you are a decent pilot, you will be more than a match for most computer-controlled Human gunships in several situations. Circle at long range while firing, and the gunship will ignore you, entirely distracted by the atomic pulse charge. And it still won't be able to destroy them fast enough to save itself. I've taken on flights of gunships in a single gaitori gunship.

    • Ok, but if you are in a human gunship against a fleet of gaitori gunships you will waste them quickly because they are computer controlled. The computer sucks at piloting and strategy. In a net game, a human gunship will easily kill its worth in enemy ships, even if they're piloted by a human, in gaitori gunships. A few lucky shots and it's over for the Gaitori, but it takes the gaitori a long time to wear down the shields.

    • Sure, Gaitori gunships suck, but they're about 1/3rd as expensive as human gunships. Admit it : 3 gait. Gunships will waste a human gunship, if they're bith AI controlled.

    • You ever see what a couple of Gaitori Gunships will do to a human carrier?
      It's not pretty....

    • The gaitori gunship may not suck too much as a ship in general, but as a gunship it's a pretty big failure. Look at every other gunship in the game. They're designed to kill things like carriers. They have either a fast firing medium power weapon (Sal, aud, human), or a slow firing hugely powerful weapon (Cantharan). They easily get toasted by a bunch of cruisers of the same species (auds and humans are the exceptions, but they're screwed up. human cruiser is underpowered, aud gunship is overpowered.) because of attritions (a typical gunship just can't fight that many ships at once.) They also have higher shields.

The gaitori gunship is more of a swarm ship than a gunship. It's fairly speedy, it's cheap, it has low shields (less than most cruisers,) its primary weapon (pulse,) does fairly low damage and fires slowly, and it's secondary weapon is short ranged. It's designed to win by attritions. It's not a destroyer ship.

I'm really using a lot of the ideas Vegeta put forwards earlier with his Rock Paper Scissors thing, but oh well.

Almost anything with a reasonable amount of shields can toast a human carrier. Human carriers are crappy. They aren't worth building. It just so happens that a human carrier is less crappy and unworthy than a gaitory carrier, which anything reasonable can kill. By reasonable, I mean more powerful than a gaitori fighter.

    • No, they're NOT, Newt. Human carriers are GOOD, RELIABLE ships. They have an excellent turret, and the magneto pulse servers it well. I have beaten an Aud carrier and escorts with a Human carrier.

    • A human carrier is a human gunship, but slower and with 2000 more shields. Other than that, they're the same ship, and the human carrier costs 2X as much. It's almost never worth building them. 2 human gunships will easily toast one.

Any carrier in the game is, as you put it, a "good reliable shiP" simply because of the massive shields (except the gaitori one, although I have seen some damn interesting uses for that... but that's another story.) But the human carrier has nothing in terms of weapons to distinguish it from a gunship, which is also faster. It's a better buy.

And again using the computer as an example, send a human carrier which is computer controlled against an aud carrier which is computer controlled and see who's not fragements at the end.
