    • Vs. Human game; can't choose right position

      3 6 370

      Hi,

Running OS 9.2.1 on a B/W G3; no X. Orbit ADB mouse plugged into serial port. MacAlly optical mouse plugged into keyboard left side.

When I try to play a Versus game in Human mode at the Version Options screen I can't change ioni on the right and can't even begin a game in this mode. If I press the start button below the color might change on the left side but nothing on the right. If I get to this point I have to Quit the game to reset everything (the Back button on the upper left doesn't function).

Is this a problem with pop-pop or is it a problem on my end. I can move both mouse cursors using each mouse.

      TIA for any suggestions!

No.But I forgot to mention that I'm running v 1.0 and haven't obtained 1.0.1 yet. I ran into Andrew on IRC last nite and he mentioned that the big change was an X issue which doesn't concern me.

The more I wonder the less I think it's a mouse problem. I can't even begin the game from this Option screen. I either have to Quit or hit the <- icon in the top left. The game itself refuses to run. Any other suggestions?

    • Check the inputsprocket settings: this is what makes that mode work. The mouse button that you are clicking with has to be the primary fire button in the config, i think. If you cannot get it to work like that, then use a keyboard key for the second player primary fire button and try pressing that instead of the mouse button. Make sure its second player, as just like the mouse movement mentioned in the other thread, the buttons may default to the same player.

Bingo! I didn't realize the importance of the Fire button. I also didn't expect that the config settings are global throughout the whole game in that way; I thought the settings were only for game play. Interesting, and thanks again!
