    • The mirror of your minds...

I've been working on Star's End, on and off for about 7 months now... maybe more in various ways... And only recently have I achieved any real progress. I have however noticed this. Since it is my nature to look at the mirror in my mind once and so often, I wondered who I was making it for, and why? I seem to be sacrificing my own time to get you impressed, and I believe it is the same for all plugin developers. It didn't use to be like that, but a kind of hobby. Mag, Patrick, Darkk, Pallas and all other developers... do you make plugins because they're fun to make, or other more elemental reasons?

      -------------
I try to emulate nice people.

    • Personally, I make my plugin for personal satisfaction, and personal satisfaction only. Which is why it, as Mag keeps kindly pointing out, progresses at a slug's pace.

    • Ares has become a medium through which to express an idea. Plain and simple.

    • I make them mostly because I know I can make plugs I enjoy playing. It's almost like being able to custom-make a game to be the way you want it,

      Reviews are appreciated.

    • I make them largely as a medium for graphics 😉

However, I like to impress others, definitely

But For M:Inv, I think it's really different it's not a dedication to me, or the players, or to anyone else, but to the Marathon Series as a whole

    • Nod Talking about Marathon: Invasion, what does Bungie think of it, if you've contacted them?

    • Umm.... yeah.... well, we haven't exactly gotten around to that yet. I've got a sinking feeling about it. MicroSoft isn't exactly generous about coprights...

    • Well, they'd have to find us first 😉

Anyway, I'm doing this because I hope to have a carrer in this.
Yes, I am a programming student IRL, and am looking at some good comp-sci colleges.

On a deeper level, and the reason I'd like a carrer in this, the process of game/mod creation is dang fun.

Well, they didn't do anything about Marathon:Rubicon, I know that. I think Bungie still handles that kind of stuff. I'd contact them as soon as possible.
