    • Well, it takes me about 2 seconds to set up a spin, and a anywhere from 1 minute 36 seconds to over an hour to render it, depending on size and frame count, and then it goes into importable format in about a minute.

    • Well, I set up all of my remaining renders last night and started them this morning. They should be done by now... I'll just have to make the few remaining weapons, make the spins themselves, and implement before I head out skiing over February break. Also, I've got a left-side interface I'm working the bugs out of- essentially just a reconstructed M2 version. I also need to get my 8 moons uploaded.

      On the planets:

      • They definitely have a garrison. Is 40 good?

      • The graphics I have made will make the planets choose their pic randomly (unless otherwise stated) and eliminate the need for "Sprite Override." I assume everyone likes this development?

      • The multiplayer general capabilities will be Crvt, Dest, Bttl, Dred, Aslt, ColS. Uncolonized planets will generally have Ftr, Crvt, Dest, Aslt, ColS.

I'll do multiplayer levels (I've already got 4 unique concepts)
      I'll also configure the transporters.

    • Sounds good to me. When I get a chance, I'll do the remaining weapons on the Jjaro and get them out of the picture. Then the Nar.

BTW, I think there should be a Vidmaster section, with secret credits terminals. I'm sure you see how this could be done.

    • For ships:
      (list=1)
()Generally, follow the basic template of factory ships.
Cause Colony Ships to built for matching build flags, hard target matching build flags, ABCD.
      (
)Do not put a special weapon on any ship. I have to do some complex work to get the transporters to work.
()Folding? I think all ships except ColS and Ftr should have folding.
      (
)Send them to me for transporter config when done.
      (/list=a)

I'll see if I can get anything done.

    • Once again, I will voice my disdain against the transporters. Some ships need special weapons. Having a ridiculously powerful ship with only two weapons isn't going to go over well at all, I can assure you. Perhaps have just one or two ship classes with the transporters?

    • Nope, sorry - if Boomer had transporters, anything bigger should. Pretty much everything is bigger. It might be argued that the UESG could not transport without a destination apparatus, but I doubt Durandal forgot to give them so offensively usefull.

      ------------------

    • Want to use the EV method? (lots of primary weapons, 1 secondary weapon)
Then you could have a couple NCannons, A particle beam, a warpeado launcher or two, plus the trih xeem, and still have transporters. Trust me, transporters should be on everything.

      If this appeals to anyone..?

    • Let's see... maybe the activation action would create more than 1 object? 😛

--Wait, I should say this: We would create multiple objects,
--as well adding delays for salvos. In other words:
      --Reload: 15
      --ACTIVATION ACTION
      -- Create Object PBEAM Reflexive
      -- Create Object NPULSE Reflexive
-- Create Object NPULSE Reflexive, Delay 5
-- Create Object NPULSE Reflexive, Delay 10

Well, this topic has been as inactive as a Pfhor colony I've visited. I "convinced" the humans to stop using me so much, and have got quite a deal on second-hand Jjaro parts.

A few more, and it will be payback-day.

The f***ing Nar haven't been as cooperative, but I've got a song-and-dance routine I'll have the marine do to persuade them. That or a propperly aimed (face, certain organs, respetory or circulatory system) hand wave motion cannon.

T-Minus 15.193792102158E+9 years until the universe closes! Hopefully this will be done first, I would hate for my escape plans to be put on hold.

    • Balence issue time.
Currently, the Jjaro Foldship and 2 Remover escorts can take out 10 Audemedon carriers with a little luck/skill.
This IS in keeping with their position as "ultimate techological butt-kickers", but is it a little overboard?

I've almost got the Jjaro all in. Tweaking will be needed to iron out balence issues, but they might be ready for some testing by Sunday.

      ------------------
      Formerly-Rampant Human-Coded AI

    • Well, the Jjaro are pretty much what Ambrosia would call beta - feature complete.
I've finished pretty much everything except intra-species balence. I'm going to make sure that equal costs of ships can have close fights.

      Then I'll do the Nar.

      How are you guys doing?

    • Humblest apologies, everyone, but I am going to have to drop out of this. School is taking too high a toll, and my models suck anyway.

      Very sorry,

    • That's too bad. I can relate to the school part.

I guess this means I get to do the S'pth Kr.
Great, POV is NOT cut out for organic stuff.
Ah well, at least I'm going to be in more credits 😉

      (Durandal)
It was bound to happen sooner or later. Wheather it happens here or on Lh'owon's nameless inner moon matters not. Farewell.

In any case, I've dug up enough old Jjaro outposts, with a little help from my friends (or friends of a friend I should say) to piece together a full Jjaro navy. It's quite amazing - which one of 2 equally expensive sides will win is decided by luck and skill, not any namby-pamby "rock-paper-scissors" deal (all three are obsolete anyway). I'd transfer it over to you, but the comm system the humans rigged up called "email" is patheticly slow, and thus it's considered impolite to send 4.8 meg files without asking. Maybe I'll find and install a compression application.

      ------------------

    • Can POV do metaballing? If not, I'd consider it sadly inadequate for the Kr, and It also would require some good texturing... You know, I've got all of my models designed and rendered (if not assembled in Hera-ready format), maybe we could do a little juggling:

      I'll take the S'pht'Kr
You'll take the groups of pics I've made for each ship, assemble them,
You'll add weapons, etc. on the Nebs, since I don't really care for that part, and
I'll debug the Jjaro, Nar, and finalize the other races, add teleporters.

Sargatanus will continue in silence designing the single player.

The two of use will create multiplayer levels.

Just a little clarification on my multiplayers:

      • Lucky 7 - the basic map; 2 opposing planets, hi-tech, 5 scattered uncolonized lo-tech

      • Crossfire - renamed Conv^rgence (reference ;))

      • Fringe - Arranged like a spiral galaxy, Might vs. the Many - maybe a couple variants with different numbers of arms.

      • Core - The MIn version of LLL, Barred spiral galaxy, center base to win.

      • To the Death - Armageddon style. 5 planets randomly arranged for each player, all hi-tech. Only way to end it is to destroy all the other player's ships.

I don't think I've come up with any other good ones yet...

    • POV does have metaballing, but it seems to have some bugs.
I'll go for your juggling idea. Jjaro on their way to your email.
Please send me the Nebulon stuff, and I'll put them together.

Nar will be done as soon as I can. I'm thinking heavy damage, low fire rate for their guns, and very poor manuverability/speed.

    • Oh - 4 multi ideas:

Purity of Essence - (spot THIS refrence to Marathon? ;)) 1 planet each, start in a destroyer, capture the other guy - perfect for tourneys

Tactician's Delight - 1 Dreadnought, 2 Carriers, 2 Battleships, 4 Destroyers, 8 Corvettes, NO PLANETS, nothin' but tactics

KAAA-RUNCH - 2 human players as above, Jjaro computer player with same forces

Durandal v Tycho - like PoE or similar, but one side is either Humans, Kr, or Nebulons, and the other side is Pfhor or Nar.

    • Fatum Istum Soltarum - PoE with a different twist: If the player's ship is destroyed, then he loses. Of course, you can always switch out before destruction, but it would cause some interesting strategies.

We could also remake the multiplayer levels from Marathon using walls (and two dimensions, most likely, although I might be able to get around that), for a little bit of a retro aspect - you get the Fighter of your choice armed with just a small gun, and in place of the actual weapons, there are their pics which cause an AlterPulse and AlterBeam to switch things around.
I suppose the wepons would be modified to fit the original Marathon Concept, mostly 😉 I'll see about getting some useful pics for that maybe, after I send over the Nebs.
