I'm taking a bit of license with the whole 'officer's' concept in posting this here, but I thought it was more suitable than Trash Talk, because trash talk is mostly about issues, rather than being able to identify you on b.net. However, feel free to move it if I'm cluttering up the board...

      Battle.net name: Joveia.
      Gateway: Lordaeron.

I'm interested in forming some sort of ASW loyal group who will play with each other regularly. This is also useful as GR no longer holds the value for me (i.e., among other things I can't download the update) and so I spend more time on b.net. I thought I would like, actually really like, to play you there.

    • I have WC3, but no bnet account.
Most of the reasons why involve "I really suck".

    • I don't have war3. I'll buy it when its 9.99, till then i have BW which is cooler anyways 🙂

I'll be NoN-imperatorP on war3 if i ever get it, whatever gateway US east is(who thought of those stupid realm names anyways)

    • Darkk, better to lose than never play at all.

Pat, brood war is quite nice but there are enough differences to say that Warcraft is really quite a new game.

I'd recommend everyone join USWest (Lordaeron) if they want to play with/against me. Because the gateways are effectively seperate entities, anything you do in one is ignored in all the others.

Azeroth - That's where I am, as SirUlcer. At present, my computer has too little VRAM to run WC3 decently, so I'm not playing online.

Err, no one who has posted so far would be in anything except for Azeroth; it might be better for you to create a secondary account there. Azeroth and Lordaeron are both pretty far away from Australia, and it's not like you'd be playing anything but custom games anyways.

The fact that Lordaeron is far away from Australia doesn't seem to have ANY effect on lag whatsoever, so I saw no harm in joining Lord. I will join Azeroth if you really want me to tho'. Custom games can also be followed by arranged team games. I expect most of our games will be allied anyway...

    • last I checked, blizz RTS was peer-to-peer and gateway choice won't have an effect on lag directly at least(suppose players would be likely to be farther away if they're on a farther-away gateway though.)

oh, and i'll probably be getting wc3 sooner than I thought, heh. much sooner.

anyone tried (url="http://"http://www.warstrat.org")www.warstrat.org(/url) ? looks nice

    • Peer to peer? Oh, can I just say that my favourite race is the night elf. The Orcs are the best race, but the night elf are pretty much the second best (and up to late game, are the best.)

    • I like the Night Elves too. Have you noticed Elves ALWAYS get the short end of the stick?
All sorts of tragic sh*t is flung at them.

Unfortunately, the responsibilities of working on MInv prohibit me from doing too much play.

The Edain got the exact same as the Elves in Middle-Earth - the other humans actually went over to Morgoth, so I'm not sure that counts as getting the long end. The Elves who had already Departed were living in the Valinor, and that certainly sounds like the long end to me.

    • I started up one b.net account on Azeroth and played a game so woeful that I almost forgot about b.net that night. Gawd, the ol' necromancer trick :frown:

I'm pretty sure it's WITH the Valinor. In the Valinor would be rather, um, funky.

    • Trojen @ Azeroth

Pretty soon I'll make an account on my home gateway of Lordaeron, its just so far most of the people I play ladder with are on USEast. I'm also unable to play Warcraft 3 until my replacement processor arrives, gameplay on a 233 mHz G3 computer just sucks.

No, I mean in Valinor. You're confusing Valinor (the city) with the Valar (the gods). It would be rather funky for the Calaquendi to be inside the gods, though. Come to think of it, not all of the Calaquendi were in Valinor, but they were all in Aman (pron. AHM-ahn, the realm).

Translated directly, Valar means "the powers." (Vala, plural -r). I'm not sure about the origins of the name "Valinor," but it ends similarly to "dor," which means land. Oh, and Calaquendi means Elves of Light, those who saw the light of the two trees. I could go on, but I doubt anyone here wants lessons in Quenya.

    • Stop all of this mindless chatter.

I now prefer... Night Elves. But very narrowly. Currently I'm actually favouring the 1337 orcs. Because of there, let us say, late game invincibilities...

USWest account sucks. I mean, argh. I'll be playing USEast reliably, so please stop by at odd hours, since you American folk are never online at optimum times over here. I suppose if I logged on about lunch time... someone go online later tomorrow and I'll talk to you.

    • I don't have the ability to go on both gateways at once. Please, start up an account on Lord, and I'll put you on my buddies list. Just log on once every while and one day, one day, we'll meet.

    • Actually, I would like lessons in Quenya. I do writing now and then, and I have this part where 2 language experts use some odd language to talk secretly in a room full of enemies because nobody else knows it. Quenya would be so cool...

In WC3, I'm probably not going to play much because I actually work on MInv, unlike some others (cough). I am now favoring the Undead, because I love the ability to warp in buildings, I love the Frost Wyrm (I don't care HOW much it sucks in multiplay), and I don't feel bad at all when I lose (in fact, during the "kill the elves" missions, I felt better when I lost - wait, I didn't lose there. I lost in the final undead mission too much, tho)

    • The frost wyrm rules multiplayer if you can get enough. I saw this replay of someone going all-out frost wyrm, and the other player built about 6-7 gyrocopters and 2 squads of riflemen. The frost wyrms annihilated them (it was rather unfair actually.)
