    • Accepts the drink.

      Thanks.

Hands over a couple of schintak, and quaffs the drink. He then excuses himself and wanders out the back. A couple of seconds later there is a flash and a heat wave. Sundered Angel enters again, happily.

Whee, that was fun! Haven't gouted flame that good since I arrived in this particular time!

      Quite tipsy.

    • Hey, guys, I'm back. The Modified Cruiser blew a fuse over in the Palyos Belt, so I got stuck there until I could fix it. I'm gonna have a talk with those maintinance boys.

Anyway, I'll have a Saalian Brandy.

    • Saalian Brandy coming up. Pours the brandy and gives it to Mag, then pours himself a Merenzane Gold and knocks it back. Walks over to Aithon. Grabs him by his collar and lifts him into the air, shakes him, and plops him down on his stool. Looks like you could use a glass of water. Pours and gives him a glass of water, secretly putting in sobering pills.

    • Shouts from out-of-the-way booth Bartender! Just how many fleets do we have in orbit now anyway? I'm starting to feel a little jittery with all this company. Does an Igadzra gesture of disgust I've never really followed what this Nijaiwhosiwhattsit guy is doing here anyway, I got bored with all the history ducumentaries . . . considers for a moment . . . don't answer that. Oh and that D's B looks fun, I'll take one. indicates empty glass of Saalian brandy

    • Aithon sobers up and theme song from "A Few Dollars More" starts playing

Now this here's an Cantharan particle rifle flashes bigass weapon at Cicion the bartender or what they like to call "The Silent Flame of Thod". Me? I like to call it "The Violent Death of Cicion". It can fire fifty rounds of whatever that nasty **** that comes out of the barell is in one second. I don't know quite how it works, but I imagine that if I start pushing buttons, we can find out. So you gotta ask yourself one question: Do you feel lucky? Well do ya? PUNK?!

Cicion (sorry to write in your part, I didn't want to destroy this pretty little fictional world of yours) ducks under the bar and pulls out some strange metalic object that's painted a tint of orange that reminds you of Audemon ships, and points it at Aithon. This is MY bar. You're drunk. Sober up and thank whatever gods you worship that I'm not going to shoot you. Snatches rifle from Aithon Firearms, by the way, belong behind the bar until you're ready to disembark, or until you sober up, which ever one happens last. You can pick yours up tomorrow morning.

Clint Eastwood: 13... 16... 18... $18 thousand? Hmmm... starts counting waggon full of dead bodies over again. Hidden man reveals himself and aims to shoot. Clint Eastwood turns and fires his revolver, striking the man in the forehead

Clint: dragging freshly killed man onto waggon I thought something was wrong with my counting, but I think I have it figured out.

    • Well, Igadzra, the Phylydion Primary Armada, consisting of 6 system fleets, the fleet which is under my direct command, is in orbit. Also is the small fleet of the Nijayias prince, and that Human carrier and escorts under Newt's command. Mag just got here with that clunky cruiser of his. My fleet is the dominant force by a factor of 50 or so, and there'll be no fighting whatsoever here. My fleet alone has enough power to march through Cantharis, Salril, and Audemedon and wipe them all out. The Prince has plenty of firpower as well.Pours a D's B into Igadzra's glass, and the glass melts, as does the table. Hmmm. Maybe something not quite as acidic would suit you? Here's something that I concocted myself: A Phylydion Red-Eye. It's called that because it makes a Phylydion's eyes, which are normally pure blue, turn pure red because of the type of alchohol which is used. I have no idea what effect it would have on a Human. Here, try it. Pours a Phylydion Red-Eye into his new glass. Igadzra drinks it, and goes flying off his stool into the padded wall. Wow! Quite a kick! Looks at Aithon, and tosses him his rifle. Actually, I changed my mind. Let's see what would've happened if you had actually tried to use that thing. Aithon looks dubious, but agrees. He hefts the weapon, aims, and fires. Before the bolt strikes the wall, Cicion dodges, flips over the bar and dashes with blinding speed to Aithon's table, coming up behind him and kicking the weapon out of his hand and into the air. Cicion jumps, catches the weapon in mid-air, and lands behind the bar, putting the weapon away. Ahh, that was fun. Aithon has now fully sobered up.

    • I don't think you could march through Salril, nobody has been able to do a recon mission there in a very, VERY long time, so I should probably fill you in: All the solid planets and moons are populated to the hilt so they've started construction of an enormous habitat structure. A ring, approximately one million miles wide, looped around the star with a radius of about 110 million miles. This has all the surface the Salril system will need for eons to come. Now, three of the other Fleet Admirals (there's a total of nine) have all their forces stationed there. Not to mention the systems stationary defences. And once the ring is completed, the electro-magnetic tides it would produce could be focused to project a stream of plasma, straight from the star, at any fleet that tried to show up without permission. The ring will be finished within five Earth years.

    • PhylSec(Phylydion Security) has launched a great many raids in Salril in the past few years and we are fully aware of this development. The High Octicon has ordered that a plant be placed in the ring to keep the Salrilians at bay without having to destroy them. If that station is fully completed, they will no doubt strike against their enemies and then retreat behind it before their enemies can recover. The Nijayias/Phylydion Alliance is wondering whether to go in and slag the whole thing before it is completed or to wait and see what the Prophets do once it is complete.

    • The Sals probably don't have red buttons because they probably don't have red blood. The reason that warning lights and such for Humans are red is because red is the color of Human blood. Besides, I think you've had too much to drink. Let me see. Cicion's sense-tendrils extend from the patches to the left and right of his mouth and pass near Xwarp's face. My goodness! If you had any more alcohol in you you could disinfect your cuts by spitting on them! Oh, well. Pours himself a Phylydion Red-Eye and knocks it back. His three eyes immediately turn pure red. Vampire mode, bleh!

    • Now I wonder if Fett is concious yet? Walks over to where Fett is sprawled in a position that reminds Cicion of those pictures of Civil War battlefields right after the battle was fought. Well, well, well. This has never happened to Boba Fett before. Want a drink, Xwarp? No, no, I'm not giving you a drink, you've had way too much already. Pulls throwing dart tipped with tranquilizer out of belt and in one fluid motion spins and throws it. It lands in Xwarp's back, knocking him out. Cicion retrieves his dart and puts a bandage on the small cut it made. There. Now you can sleep it off. Aithon, do you want anything else besides that water?

    • (Bonus points to whoever catches the ring reference)

The ring is being built mainly for economic purposes, remember that Salril is rediculously overpopulated. (although if the resources for the ring were being used for ship building the Sals would outgun any armada in the galaxy) but I suspect that one underlying motive is to concentrate the Oracular net; the ring has more than enough capacity.

The ring also has enough room for just about every intelligent being in the known galaxy, so if the Oracular Net and Council are overthrown, it could easily become an economic social/trading hub for all species.

      pauses to recieve incoming data

I've just been informed that we may have our opportunity to strike coming up in a few months, but I will need to gather more information. It seem that the Haruspex (head figure of the Grand Oracular council) has died. His nav computer suffered a hiccup and didn't plan that he would collide with an asteroid.

Now, the Council should hold a sibylline junction within three or four months to select the "most insightful" Auspexes. If I could recruit a Phylydion who is very well trained in psychic espionage and possesion, we might be able to take control over the proper candidate, provided we the Junction is outside of the Oracular Net's umbrella. (brain waves can be jammed if projected). There is a 62% chance that the Junction will be in an isolated system just out of the Net's reach. But as I said, I need to be better informed.

    • Decides against sobering up just yet.

Count me in! The fireworks will be good, if nothing else.

It occurs to some people that no-one has ever seen Sundered Angel's ship, if he even has one. Hmmm...

    • Boba Fett wakes up

"Oh man! I feel like I've been out for days! Sooo... did I miss anything?"

Looks down at feet, only to find 2 sabbacc chips fall to the floor from his belly.

"I thought you guys heard me!!! No using me as a sabbacc table!!!"

Watches as Admiral Sargatanus and Sundered Angel walk out the door.

"Hey, where you guys going? Can I come too?"

Notices heaps of bodies lying all around him.

"Why do I get a strange feeling that Darkk was involved in this?"

    • Actually the fireworks won't start for a while. First I have to find out where the Sibylline Junction is. Next I need to get a well trained Phylydion to take control of the new Haruspex while still vulnerable. Then I need to orchestrate a BIG diversion to thin out the fleets at Salril. Then I need to bring up a surprise attack on Salril, prompting the Council to call upon myself to defend the system, and the rest is easy. The problems are thus: I need to do this all without the Oracular Net catching on. And I need to figure out who is going to attack where. I may be able to get the Gaitori involved if I could convince them that it's in their best interest, but they are controled by fear, and could prove difficult to persuade. This is why the Audemedons were so instrumental.

Oh well, there's time for worrying later. Besides, I still haven't tested all the gizmos my R&D; team has cooked up. Anyone interested? Four new weapons, a new cloaking device, better sensors, and an experimental drive? All of which are designed for heavy cruisers and all ships smaller? But only one item per ship.

Glances at Xwarp, Mag Steelglass and Bob Fett

    • The Junction should be broadcast to all level 5s (auspexes, fleet admirals, and high order diplomats) so I should know about a week before it happens.

Anyway, the drive is called the Slipstream Momentum Fluctuation Device (SMFD) it manipulates the shields of your ship to tug at the solar winds around your ship, as well as bending the space around your ship for outstanding maneuverability. We have fixed similar devices on the capital ships (carriers and larger) in my primary fleet. It has given them agility that can almost match a cruiser. However, they require a large power supply, which we took care of. What this prototype is for is testing a low power version for smaller ships, and if successful, we will develop a larger version for the capital ships.

Here Hands Xwarp a small, strangely shaped object

Install this in your ships computer interface circuit. It will regulate the ships shields and power systems to suit the device, as well as feed my R&D; people the technical readouts. The device won't function without it.

So when you're finished, come back here and let me know if it has any strange physical effects: nausea, headaches, etc. And if it for some reason damages your ship beyond repair, I will give you a heavy gunship custom outfitted anyway you want.
