    • Yeah, one of the styles in Sketchup has that border. It makes for a cleaner picture in my opinion.

    • This is going back a long way, but ...

Putting the Engines together also gave me inspiration for this little Dingy.

This reminds me heavily of the Star Patrol Enforcer in Tachyon: The Fringe.

    • I tried to make a Fed Patrol Boat-esque ship...

    • That's just freaking awesome.

The only thing it's missing is the Light Blaster Turret (if I'm correct).

    • I agree with manticore. It's awesome, but it's not the Fed Patrol Boat. It's better. šŸ˜„ I would much prefer to fly this thing around over the Patrol Boat EVN has.

    • Hehe, thanks for the positive comments.
      Here is the Scoutship.

    • If I can make a suggestion with the Scoutship, I think it would benefit from the addition of antennae on the front, facing forward. It is a Scoutship, after all, and has advanced sensors. Other than that, absolutely brilliant.

Oh, and I've added both the Scoutship and Patrol Boat to my growing list of desktop backgrounds. šŸ™‚

    • So I tried a bunch of different "Sensor Array" scenarios and this one worked best in my opinion.
Also dulled the colors cause they were too strong.

Glad you like them enough to make background images.
I also have a bunch of other Nova style ships laying around would you like me to post them?

      This post has been edited by Sp3cies : 04 November 2010 - 09:04 PM

    • Nice. Now it looks like a Scoutship and not just a wicked gunboat. And yes, I would like it if you posted your other renditions of EVN ships, if you don't mind sharing them. šŸ™‚

    • Hehe, cool. Well here are the Cargo Drone, Terrapin and Pegasus...
ā€¢ Cargo Drone I already posted I just wanted to throw in a better view of it.
ā€¢ Not really too happy with the Terrapin but I am working on that.
ā€¢ The Pegasus is done and I am quite happy with the outcome.

There is also a Leviathan but that will take too long for me to deal with tonight, I will upload that bad-boy sometime in the near future.

I think I will set up a gallery like yours to display stuff because the large ships
lose a lot of detail when pictured this small(especially with this style).

Oh and the Lightning as well...

Oh and on top of all of this I keep forgetting to tell you how much I like the Onli Guerrier. It's definitely in my top 5 favourites that you have modeled so far.

    • Awesome, and I can't wait to see the Leviathan. I'm especially pleased you modeled a Lightning rendition, it's one of my favorite ships in EVN, though I don't say that much.

I do agree with you on the Terrapin, but only slightly. The Terrapin is ugly by design, its own in-game description calls it ugly. I, for one, never found the Terrapin as all that bad, though, in terms of looks. Your rendition, while not very ugly either, I think better represents the Terrapin's ungainly nature.

Thanks, it's good to know people like my work, especially the work that's actually all mine and not made up from someone else's pre-made pieces. šŸ˜‰

    • I quite like all of the Onli ships, just the Guerrier in particular has that epic factor.

      Heres the Leviathan:

    • Sp3cies, all of your renditions are very impressive, even the Terrapin and Pegasus. It's amazing what you can make with the crates from the Epheron Shuttle model.

The second one looks very much like what I had in mind for one of the freighters in EVN:UGF. Mind if I have it?

    • I think that if you went back to that model and put the wings on the first model onto the rear struts of the second model, and copy and rotate it 180 degrees. Would look cool.

Not quite sure what you mean but I do have this model:

Starsword of course you can use it, if you want me to try and change to to fit your original idea more, I am willing to do that to.

    • After that, copy the wing and arm structures and put the on the bottom, so it forms an x structure.

    • Huh, it's been forever since someone posted last, eh? What happened?

Anyways, I recently picked up SketchUp again and modified my Inexorable more. Just because. And I think I like it.

I'm not very satisfied with the back, but it's my general concept and it will do for now.

    • That's pretty cool. The only comment I'd make on the back is that is has no distinguishable engine. But that's just me. Other than that, it looks great!

The focal point of this remodel was trying to get rid of technical inconsistencies. For instance, with the original Inexorable, the engine intakes were right behind the Thunderforge cannons' cooling ports, which wouldn't be very functional.

I will admit, though: slapping on four engines didn't come out as well as I was expecting. I'm going to need to try that with another, less cluttered ship and revert the Inexorable to its standard two engines.

(EDIT) Fixed up the engines, and I'd say it's a lot cleaner.
