Spazzy: what you say is not quite true. Even if a license code is out of date, the pirate could set their computer clock back and the reg. app would have no way of knowing. Ambrosia codes are valid for one month, then they have to be renewed. A pirate who has an outdated code for a product simply has to try setting his clock to every month since the product was released. Eventually they will come across the right one. This is why those who use pirated codes are os hard to track down, unless they foolishly admit it.

fortunately though, many of them don't know that or how to do it.

Edit also, I dont think that works. I have retained my license codes for EVN (this is before I knew they were timed things) and when I switched drives cause one died I tried setting the clock back so I wouldn't have to wait to get a new code. I believe the way the bit that says this person has registered tracks time is more complicated than that.

Ambrosia has recently installed a new code system that makes it harder to forge (heh, forge) dates. It doesn't take much to crack, however. I have actually tried (and suceeded) in this myself, on my legally registered copy of PoG.
