Is this something that registering it will fix? Or is it a bug? Because I think I remember reading about how it was a bug or something...if so, when will it be fixed?

Now, what's a good idea for something to put in my signature?

Pillars of Garendall was developed to run natively under OS X.
Unfortunately a bug was introduced when OS X.2 was released - PoG can write over old saved game files, but it can't create new ones.
The developer is aware of the problem, and is working on a solution.
In the meantime, there are workarounds available-
PoG can write over old files, it just can't create new ones.
So if you have an old saved game file, use that name when you save, and PoG will ask if you want to replace it. Say yes, and you should be all set.
If you don't have any old files, use TextEdit to create a blank text document. Then go to the Format menu and select the "Make Plaintext" option. Save it and name it something like "Saved Game.pog", with the .pog being the crucial part. You'll get a message saying,
"Document name Saved Game.pog already seems to have an extension. Append '.txt' anyway?"
Click on Don't append. Then move this file into the PoG folder.
Then open PoG, and start a new game. Save it to the PoG folder and use the name above. PoG will ask if you want to replace it. Say Yes.
Then when you want to open that game, you will have to drag that file onto the PoG app, and it will open. You won't be able to Load that game, it will be greyed out. Just double click on the saved game file, or drag and drop it onto the App itself.

Hello.
I started working for Ambrosia a little over a month ago.
I have been working on another project since then. As that project progresses I am getting closer to starting my next assignment.
It will please all of you to know that my next assignment at Ambrosia will be to address the Panther incompatibilties in ColdStone and Pillars of Garendall.
I can't say for sure exactly when I will start. Rest assured I will get to it as soon as I can.
I just wanted to let everyone know that CS/POG is next on my todo list.

Just so you know, it doesn't work at all in 10.3, and Beenox (the developers) have abandonned it, forcing Ambrosia interns to take up the job.

They say that if you play a Windows Install CD backwords, you hear satanic messages. That's nothing; play it forward and it installs Windows.

Okay, thanks. I hope they get to fixing that bug soon.
EDIT: I found another problem. I successfully saved the thing, but when I tried to load it, it wouldn't let me. Is this one of those "only with registered version" things?

If you have successfully saved a game, you should be able to have it open by either double-clicking it or dragging the file onto the PoG icon. One of the OS X bugs was that when you select "load" the game files are grayed out.

Okay. I was trying to use "load" to open it. Man, I hope they get to fixing those bugs soon...
