There is no difference between the way they move in classic and in nova. Nova does not do any sort of 3/4 or isometric trajectory calculations. The sprites may be rendered in 3/4 view but the game functions entirely top-down.

Making new sprites for classic? Care to show us a sneak peek? 🙂

Ahem. UpCompress & DownCompress, in the shan resource. If the game functioned entirely top-down, weapons would fire at funny angles from the ships when the ships faced certain directions.

Real quick @ V3N0M: in blender, hit "5" on the number pad, while in object mode. Right now you're working in orthographic view, so there's no perspective and it looks wierd. If you already know this and are working in orthographic because you prefer it, ignore this, but otherwise try it - it gives a much better sense of what your model actually looks like.

    • Any way to make bloom effects in blender?

I'm pretty sure that only affects the positions of the exit points, not the directions they fire in. Weapons do fire at funny angles.

Hmm, I too am doing a graphical facelift, but for Override. But I'm doing more than that, I'm gonna make what rEV is for the Classic. Personally, I thought the ships from Cold Fusion were a bit too large and was more like an eye candy version of the original design, especially when they clutter together in an escort formation. So far, the only ship I managed to revamp and input it into game play was the UE Shuttle.

Holy freaking crap! How in the heck do you even MAKE graphics that good?!?!? That looks commercial grade!

I just tested this with beams, and you appear to be right. However, I do remember using a "3D" graphic with the EVO engine and getting different results, as weapons appeared to exit the ship at much odder angles (the funny angles in Nova are only marginally funny). I don't have time to test exactly why this was the case, though, but it might warrant further investigation.

Believe it or not, I still use Infini-D, it's a very old old 3D program that requires me to run Classics Environment to use it.

      Old != Bad.

And I must say, it truly is beautiful. That's quite the graphical enhancement. 🙂

      Really?!?!? That's crazy!

    • Use sketchup if you are a noob, it is quite easy.

Yes, it is. I used it for a long time. I wouldn't consider myself a noob, though.

      Exactly right. Chill out, one-oh-one.

    • I think he did. "I wouldn't consider myself a noob, though." That was interpreted by me as an accusation.

    • I'm not getting into an argument with you on someone else's topic, and that's all there is to it. I wasn't implying anything, and you are jumping on me with no reason. Again, that's all there is to it.

I don't want to get too far into this, because it really doesn't matter, but if you can give me a logical argument explaining exactly how this could be interpreted as an accusation I will praise you until the end of days.

Otherwise - and this holds if you attempt but cannot - please do not try to start fights in this forum.

Holy lord. That is ****ing awesome.

I might as well warn you ahead of time, Coraxus: you do that, you won't have time for anything else because you'll be too busy fielding requests for graphics!

Seriously, though, are you planning on making graphic design your career? 'Cause you got talent out the wazoo.

This is what the argosy looks like so far. Yes i'm trying to go for an angular look thats different from the original. I don't thin I have quite the right shape though

I'm using the Argosy in EVN:UGF myself. The main problem: your fuselage is too short and too fat.

Well, it's a little too late for the warning since I'm now involved in the Nebula project.

Thanks, I've been a freelance graphics designer, though I've lost most of my work from the external HD crash.
