There is no difference between the way they move in classic and in nova. Nova does not do any sort of 3/4 or isometric trajectory calculations. The sprites may be rendered in 3/4 view but the game functions entirely top-down.

Ahem. UpCompress & DownCompress, in the shan resource. If the game functioned entirely top-down, weapons would fire at funny angles from the ships when the ships faced certain directions.
Real quick @ V3N0M: in blender, hit "5" on the number pad, while in object mode. Right now you're working in orthographic view, so there's no perspective and it looks wierd. If you already know this and are working in orthographic because you prefer it, ignore this, but otherwise try it - it gives a much better sense of what your model actually looks like.
