Well... it appears to me that loading Trinity in an old game causes you to be treated like a swordsman - so, you can't go to "all" the special class specific places, but what character can?
I started new games as a ranger and a swordsman but only for a few levels. (Although I enjoyed POG, I think it may be a while before I can stomach playing the whole game over again - not to mention twice to cover both ranger and conjurer.) I then loaded Trinity into my old game (with a character that can kill giants slowly and usually does not get killed by them - level 25, 210 hp which, yes, is pretty weak for this level compared to other postings I've seen) and it worked pretty well though not perfectly - here is what happens:
-Press the "V" key - game says you are a swordsman and have no special abilities (Trinity does not recognize my innate charm I guess).
-You can enter the Swordsman's guild. For some reason it started me at level 3 in the arena (coincidentally I had done arena levels 1 and 2 in my "new" Trinity game but that shouldn't affect a separate game unless Trinity has its own memory file). I then proceeded to blow through all arena levels (11?). I also got a goblin bag, bagged a goblin and got the reward.
-Visited Gewin. Gewin says "I see by your outfit that you are a default" I think he meant swordsman so I restrained my temper despite the mortal insult of being called a default. The various plants are missing from his sales list (will he sell them to a swordsman in a "new" Trinity game? AAC's new list says they are "swordsman usable"). However, he will sell other ordinary items and he gives away Gewin gate stones for free (these were 50 gp in my new ranger game). (Actually the price was listed as 0 but I'm not sure that I didn't get charged anyhow - this may have happened with the salesman and the Berglum gate stone too...)
-Found the salesman. He will sell you anything. Oddly, the Berglum and Fantrima gate stones worked "out of the box" but the Dernath and Gwyden gate stones did not until I re-visited those towns.
-Walked up to Norgha and Galion but could not enter as I'm not a ranger or conjurer (so how could a swordsman, even in a new game, get gate stones to these places? These stones are also listed as "swordsman usable" in AAC's new list which by the way is a great list).
-Visited the archery range.
I don't know if there are other new locations yet. I only re-walked through a fraction of the screens
Next I will go grab some seashells and see if I can make the seashell powder (the salesman sold me a grinder).
One ill effect (probably of the 1.0.1 update, not Trinity) is that the Ring of Gods bug which bumped my speed to 14 is fixed so I am back to 11. Bummer - that extra speed removed some of the tedium of getting around. I just wish I could use the metal shovel like a ranger.
Cool plug-in technology though!
