Were they ever effective? I have not heard of anyone who has had the grinder do what it says it will do. This is a Trinity bug. Sell the shells and the grinder at one of the out of town locations and put the money to better use. That's odd, Everytime I used 'em, they were working.
Uh, just in case, I'm gonna tell you how they work.
When you use one, you get the message you already know. Start killing ennemies, then. When the effect worn off, you get a new window telling you that you gained xxx additionnal xp.

right! They worked before, I used it like, three times while killing the Dark Nights and Dark spirits and after that I collected more seashells, ground them etc etc and as soon as I used the powder it gave me that message : "I ONCE AGAIN rub the seashell powder on my weapon ... BUT DOUBT it will do anything useful". That's why this is bizarre because if it SAYS that, then it probably means it's not a bug and that either I overlooked something (I don't know, maybe the TYPE of seashel ?) or it's just meant to not last. Could someone please give me some insight into this? I'm using the same game too it's not like I changed characters or anything.

The Grinder (and seashell powder) work great!
if you try to use the powder while in the middle of a fight with more than one mob, you get the "doubt it will do anything useful" message. This is because you have uncollected experiece hanging in a "que" (variable, whatever)
There is a bug however, after that fight you keep getting the message even if you use the powder before starting your next fight. i dont know if quitting/restarting PoG will fix it as i save so often i just reload my last save when it happens.

yeah, I remember using it in the middle of fights. Hmmm, do you mean simply reloading your saved game? So I guess no more seashell powder 
or is there something I can do to rectify this?
