      Overriding my settings?

      I've been doing some variable testing and I've set up everything so that a pers would show up 100% of the time. The problem is that when I destroy it, it won't ever show up at all despite the efforts. So what do I have to do to make it show up regardless if it gets destroyed?

    • Make sure it has the "has escape pod and keeps grudges" flag set.

    • Ah, interesting, it seems to work even on derelicts, welll thanks for the help.

    • Now that I have it working, I wonder if there is another way around to un"disable" (enable in otherwords) a pers ship. You see I was trying to set up a mission where a player would repair a disabled ship, and after boarding, that disabled ship would be enabled and become a mission-related escort ship for the player to bring back to a certain location. Unfortunately, when a pers ship is disabled, it won't become an active mission ship despite the enabled "pers ship becomes a mission ship".

    • You might be able to do this with a weapon that does negative damage. The trick would be giving the player ship the weapon and getting the player to use it.

      Probably. I knew it was linked to something, I just didn't remember what.

      Nope. Negative damage has no effect. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with this sort of mission, so if "replace pers with misn ship" isn't working, I can't offer any help.

    • This is something I tried to do once too (just the repairing bit, not getting an escort) but failed.

    • I've also tried something, but it's limited to an extent, and that was to have the player Nxxx to a cloned system where the active and escorted mode ship would be waiting, thus making the disabled ship disappear, but it would be strange cause the visual appearance would make a ship teleport from one area of the system to another, unless it was a total and complete empty system, but even then it would look akward.

      But I wonder if one can park a disabled pers ship on a specific spob.
