I'm having a problem using the above technique. When I try to make te file using TextEdit, it tells me that I can use .pog and .rtf combined, use .rtf, or cancel. When I use both, bugs stop me from playing PoG. When I use .rtf, it doesn't work. Also, when my brother installed OS X, Classic was not installed with it since a virus had wiped out OS X in the first place. He found out that he had to erase OS X to install Classic and then reinstall OS X, so he didn't install Classic. So, basically, both solutions described here don't work, and I'd appreciate if someone could find another one or a way to trick Appleworks(Which requires the file to have .cwk) or TextEdit(Which requires the file to have .rtf) into allowing me to use only .pog, or telling me about a different typing application that doesn't require a certain ending.

Here's what you do:

Create the file in TextEdit, and leave it with the .rtf extension.

Quit TextEdit, and go find your file via Finder.

Rename the file with the .pog extension, removing the .rtf extension.

In PoG, start a new character. When you save the character, type in the filename with the .pog suffix. PoG will ask you if you want to overwrite/replace the current file. Click replace.

Later, when you want to play that character, either double-click on the character file, or drag and drop the character file onto the PoG application file.

Once you have a working character file, you don't need to go through TextEdit whenever you want a new character. Just duplicate (cmd-d) an existing character file and rename it.

how do you force PoG to open in classic? i just switched to OS X (panther) and PoG always launches in panther which, of course, doesnt work.
