...and a whole series of ranks to keep track of your credit rating!

Well, it seems this may be possible; however I would like it if someone well versed in the EV/O/N engine would verify that it is or is not possible to use the trade-in value of a ship in a datafile.
As for making it so you had to keep taking UN Shipping (for example) missions to keep your insurance, you could have a cron that causes your insurance silent mission/rank to auto-abort/be removed after 60 days that would be reset by another cron that would be set every time you accepted a UN shipping mission. (I am not sure if this is exactly possible, but it might be , with a little genius and luck on the parts of developers. I will try to find out a little more, but I don't have time for an in-depth study. That's not to say someone else couldn't do it though...)

View PostNot directly, no, but you could in theory keep track of the player's ship and all outfits he owns (excluding persistents) and divide their cost by 4.

Pah, that's perfectly easy. It's just that most people tend to forget about thinking laterally when they see you can "only" have two different texts with one bit check
I didn't say it wasn't easy, it's just that "simple" missions usually involve just that, a mission, and nothing else.

And orca, the thing is many ideas that are in SS won't come out for a long time. Plugs like Retribution and Arpia 2, however, will be the ones to show a few of them early
This is true.
By the way, we'll also have duct tape. And when you get a ship inspection, you get fines for using it, but you also get fines for not going through inspections.
