Have you experimented with f5? It reselects the closes spob. Regardless of navidifault status. Also, even spobs above the four show up on radar, and the only thing that determines what an AI will land on is location (and habitation). Though they do prefer the first four, they will land on any thing, pretty much so long as it is within the no jump zone, or something similar.
Note im not entirely sure f5 does the trick if the spob is unlandable, but im pretty sure it does.

uh... yeah, left to right is correct, but if you go off the top, it brings you up the bottom. If should really shot you down the top displaced by half the width of the system (for a sphere), but it certainly doesnt do that. Definately a donut.
