    • Where the heck is Upper Berglum?

I was very happy to see this new plug-in for PoG. Downloaded it, off and running and I cannot find Upper Berglum for the life of me! I have the tip of the sword, 185 toadstools and I am going crazy! A hint I ask, a hint. I have been up and down the west coast and even went through High Garendall again. Ack!

      ------------------
      The two scariest words
      in the english language are
      "indictment" and
      "inoperable" everything

    • Which new plug? Not that I can help, but it'd be nice for others to know.

      ------------------
What do you get when you multiply six by nine?

Hint: What you are looking for is in the western half of the city of Berglum. It should be pretty easy to find. The word "upper" is a clue.

It is a generality of speech that if you take the standard compass directions(N/E/S/W), "Upper" refers to northern parts and "Down" refers to southern parts.

This is why you will hear people talking about going down south to florida, or up north to Canada.

The plug-in that Mikeymono is referring to is Damsels in Distress by Rubber Ducky.

In place-naming it can also mean "on higher ground." Take your pick. 🙂

I hope you enjoy the plugin. Don't eat too many toadstools. ~RD

      I love the plug-in. However, my wife doesn't . . . .

If UPS and Fed-Ex merged, would they be Fed-Up?

She would rather sleep than staying awake until 2am (like her husband) meting out punishment to the insolent creatures who would kidnap innocents.

    • Hehe. I sleep and still play DiD.

I remember when I first played WoC, my brother hated the plugin because it was too hard. He was always disabling it (that's how I figured out that if you have speed mail on, it changes to a Dwarven Habaurk if you deselect WoC). Well, he finally stopped doing it, but I still haven't been able to finish WoC.
      <Thunderforge's daydream ends>

Have you EVER tried playing as a conjurer? Finishing it completely (almost) depends on the Moki spell.

    • Not yet. But I will sooner or later. So far, I've just played with a Ranger.

You should do it soon. Some of the spells (especially that 4th one on the boat) are really cool, and the missile weapons are much more powerful than any spells in Spells Expander or Trinity. You can knock out minotaurs an Death Knights in one blow at low cost!

Not so. Many players completed the game as a conjurer before Spells Expander came along with it's numerous spell additions. I know some of you are going to think that this sounds like the statement, "You got it easy, when I went to school we had to walk 4 miles carrying 18 books and it was all up hill both ways." The game was harder before some of the plugins added goodies to the arsenal, but it was also still fun. SE, WoC, and yes even DiD add new challenges and new rewards to the game and hopefully still keep it fun.

In a way, each of the plugins mentioned above might be considered to be a "cheat" of sorts in that they all give the player tools more powerful than any found in the original game with Trinity plugin alone. But the difference between these and a strictly cheat plugin is that you have to work to get the reward instead of merely pushing a key to get more gold, strength, health, etc.

I usually don't use cheat plugins, but I started to get so annoyed about walking arourd and taking forever to get somewhere, so sometimes I just have to activate PoG Dev Tools.

    • I only use PoG Dev tools if I have to look up something really quick for a hint walkthrough I am creating (it's still a long way off though). Even then, I only use it on a duplicated saved game. Never my actual ones.
