      Really, it's freaking easy

I have always loved the class IV pirate valkyries, but one thing has troubled me... Why do the rebels get a class V valk and the pirates are stuck with IVs? I would LOVE to have a class V pirate valk! Just imagie what it would have! 6 Particle Ion cannons, a cloaking device, gravimetric missle launchers... maybe even a viper bay!

So, my question is... Why hasn't anyone made a mod that accomplishes this? I have yet to see a mod that adds a Class V Pirate Valkyrie, and I am very suprised I have not!

Now, some of you are going to suggest I make one, but to be honest, I have the programming skills of a retarded ant with brain cancer, and I can make no sense of the EVN Bible or any of the editors. All my skills lie in playing the game, meaning I can disable a fed carrier using a class II valk (I've done it!) but I can't make a single damn outfit

So, I emplore any EV coders or mod makers out there to create this mod! It doesn't seem like it would be very challenging, and you'd probably get a lot of recognition for doing it!

    • I suppose I have nothing better to do tonight, so I might as well.

In the future try downloading any of the EVN editors out there and just look at the data files. Just reading the bible without looking at the actual files doesn't help.

    • Indeed. I can't count how many times I've heard the same crap: that the Bible is a bunch of techno-babble or whatever. It's not, it just doesn't make any sense (to anone except me, I understood the EV Bible before even trying out the templates...) if you don't have something you know about to compare it to. The Bible is intended to be used in conjunction with an editor. Also, ZP and I's guide, The Bible Explained to Dummies, may prove useful to you.

Oh, and Darth Bob, he did say he couldn't make sense out of any of the editors (leading me to believe he's on a Mac (not that it has anything to do with anything), but I could be wrong)...

Thanks, and I might try that sometime... But I have school, and that eats into me time.. The only reason I can post right now is because I'm sick... But thank you.

    • How'd you know i was using a Mac because I couldn't make sense of editors? That's kinda creepy...

Okay, as for progress I've got the ship resource done. Do you have any requests for the actual look? Do you want it to be the reuglar Pirate Valk or do You want it to use a Black Painted Rebel Valk?

I may not finish it tonight; it might come tomorrow.

The plural, I assume - Windows users only have one editor to confuse them, while Macintosh users have many.

    • The Pirate V Plug-in is finished.

Until I get it on ASW add-ons page it is availible for download from here. It is a rez file so mac users will need to grab a converter for it.

    • How spooky! This is the third person today that would benefit from the guides I wrote. Actually, I'll add a fourth one: Darth Bob, did you read my distribution guide? Mac users usually have no clue where to grab the converter (not that PC people have more, but PC plug devers need to know so that they can tell Mac users of their plugs), so it would be good to tell it here (moreover you just uploaded the .rez file, no ReadMe...)

Yeah, I could use a link... I'll search versiontracker first though.

BTW: Thanks for the mod! Just DL'd it, but I haven't tried it yet... Thanks!

Thanks, and the plugs great! I already captured one in scheall andassigned it as a escort. (I didn't buy one 'cuz I bought a pirate carrier, took out all the bays, and filled it with ungodly amounts of firepower and upgrades) I'm gonna start a new game just so I can buy one!

Because Donald Chick based the V off his own private Valkyrie, the Lucalia.

Well, it says so right in the the descriptions. Here, I'll show you:

From Rebel Valkyrie shipyard dësc said:

Another of Donald Chick's efforts in starship redesign. In his younger days, Sir Donald had an old T7 model Valkyrie that he hotrodded in his spare time. Much of what went into that now legendary craft (the 'Lucalia' is still his personal ship) now provides the punch behind the next generation of Rebellion starships. The updated Valkyrie breathes new life into the design, adapting some of the micro-furnace technology from the Starbridge for its engines. Truly a triumph for Sir Donald and his crew.

From Rebel Valkyrie escort dësc said:

Sir Donald himself shows you over this Valkyrie. "She's as hot as we can get her," he says. "I've used every trick I know, and my guys have pulled miracles out of their hats getting some of these modifications to work." He sighs. "In truth, you know, this Valk is probably even faster than 'Lucalia'." He looks fondly up at his pride and joy parked two bays above you. "But don't let her hear you say that," he grins.

      Dave @ ATMOS

    • I know. I tried to make the Pirate one fit more by saying that Olaf used contacts within the Rebellion for help when designing it.

      Hehe, confuse them.

Anyways, indeed it was the plural.

The systs are to add my Pers. 😄

I may have made some changes as to which dudes are in each of syst so the Class V shows up a bit more in the universe.

    • Hehehe. That didn't occur to me. 🙂

    • That's the best use of a syst I've ever heard of... 🙂
