This has been in my head a while now, but I've finally started to make it.
The story replaces the pirate string completely, and is only availible after completion of a main string.
Basically, your character grows bored of life as a savior, god among his people, leader of organization, etc. and sets out to carve his own empire.
To accomplish this, he seeks out Olaf and his engineers to colonize the empty space north of the federation, banding together the various pirates. (Adding more planets there that were previously unseen) as well as setting up various listening posts in explored space. One will definately be near Saturn, since I got a sprite ready and I don't want to waste it.
The pirate versions will all be availible, but a new outfit called Pirate Upgrades, akin to the Sigma Upgrades, will also be availible. As well as Imperial Ships, which would be Pirate versions of capital ships and few originals. (My personal favorite is a polaris ship which is to the valkyrie what the dragon was to the starbridge)
As ruler, you get diplomatic immunity, an outfit that makes sure no ship opens the firing shot, a salary, and others.
Of course, to get all this, you would have to destroy and force into submission several pirate and federation fleets.
Despite sounding large, this would really be just 4, maybe 5, large combat missions, a few new spobs and some outfits. The end result will most likely be unacceptable for release, much like my ship resource creation program using the pilotlog.
Any ideas or suggestions? Any problems I might run into?
