I thought up this idea recently and I don't think it has been done before so I'm gonna post it here.

The idea is that on certain ports you can hire entire fleets of ships. For instance, on Viking you can hire pirate fleets, maybe every now and then a merc fleet. On Toutha you can hire wild geese fleets and so on.

This could be carried out by missions availible in the BBS that give escorts. The missions would have the name of the fleet they are, such as "Wild Geese thunderhead squadron"
I don't think you can have a mission that makes you pay a certain sum of money each day so each fleet would also have to be timed, so the fleet stays with you to the end of their preset time, which would also be in the title. Something like this "Wild Geese thunderhead squad:20 days" The desc would contain detailed information on price, number and variant of ships, and a repeat of given information.
