Hi everyone,
I have been writing a plug-in for Nova, which includes several ranks that give players discounts. However, it doesn't seem to work for outfits. It does work on spobs of the specified govt, but only for ships, not outfits. I know this feature works, because I have seen it work in the Rebel storyline. Any ideas on why this is? A bug? An "undocumented feature"? Or my own stupidity? Any help appreciated...
Oh, and I am running the latest version of Nova, 1.0.8 for Mac on OS 9.1
The first thing you should've done is check the Rebel string for it, but...okay, I assume you mean "Ory-hara", which makes ships and outfits cost 80%? That simply uses the PriceMod field. I dunno.

Correct. I did look at this, in fact it was the first thing I did. My rank resource appears to be configured identically, although its 50%, not 80%

Oh, sorry. I assumed from the way you worded it that you hadn't.
Are you absolutely sure it's not half-price? I'll try it at some point when I decide to close Nova.

I had the same problems as I made this gli-tech discount card for the PlugPack. I even wrote Matt but all he said was that it would work ... but it doesn`t.

Im very sorry but I was never able to solve that problem... I really think it is a bug in the engine but Matt dont think this way. Maybe someone knows what we did wrong or maybe someone can post his experience with this problem too so we would know if it`s a bug or not.

I think I have an idea, although I haven't tested it yet. Have you given the rank an affliated government? I'm thinking that it might not work without an affiliation, ie no gov = -1. This sucks, 'cause you can't do a global price modification.
MCB, if this is so, could that be "fixed" in 1.0.9?

I tried to escpecially modifie the prices of federation outfits and ships... ships are cheaper, outfits are not affected by the price mod.

Unfortunately, yes, I have... although its for govt 200, but that should be well within Nova's maximums...
I have created pilot files specifically to test this... no luck. I made a misson that activates the Oryn-Hara rank, and it did gove me price mod on reberl systems (for outfits that is... it worked for rebel ships)
I'm at a loss here... I even beginning to wonder if it ever worked at all. Can anyone at least confirm it (pricemod-ing outfits) works sometimes?
EDIT: OK, I created a plug-in that grants you Oryn-Hara rank & it doesn't seem to do anything, outfit wise (ships are 80%, as they should be...).
