What is the forum opinion on these topics? I was just annoyed after seeing the same question posted a thousand times. I thought that a concise center for these fields would be useful and very educational. Please do not submit opinions or anything on the actual centers. I am not a mod or anything, only a somewhat new member but I have already gotten annoyed with the repetition. I cannot enforce the center rules, but please respect them and only post direct topics. No related replies or anything, just the actual center purpose. What are your ideas, though on these centers?

I also agree that they are unnecessary. And, more than likely, even if they were instituted people would still ask the same questions in the same ways that people aways have. Annoyance at repitition is a factor of BBS life, and there is no realistic way to make everyone read the FAQ or go over past articles looking for thier answer, and overagressive attempts to make people conform to the guidelines of nettiquite will only discourage people from asking anything to begin with, and therefore probably turn off a lot of people from trying to make plugs.

I know that I was a total ass when I first started getting on internet boards. And if I would of listened to all the people who told me to RTFM and GFY I would of gotten offline.

We've done it before, it didn't work. All you've done is spammed the boards with empty topics. I'm going to delete them all now. If you want to try in the future, post a topic asking if people like the idea first.

Here's a bit more on why I didn't want these topics to stay - this forum does not deal gracefully with long topics. It's not so bad now, but before the server was upgraded it was hell. Imagine 2 minutes for the server to actually process a reply. I don't want really long topics hanging around, just incase that sort of problem happens again when we hit 2000 post topics...

One of these days they might update the forum software to use a SQL backend, but I doubt it.

such is life, i hadn't realized the problem. maybe someday I'll make a webpage with all the stuff on it. That would be really, really good, now that I think about it. Unfortunately, as I'm leaving the country in a little while, I don't think I'll be able to pursue it. Someone should do that... it would be helpful to everyone.

It's a good idea, but it would take someone with a lot of time to update. I could create the site, but I have a lot of other stuff on my plate at the moment. Only 7 pages left of my assignment!
