People seem to forget that most people create plugs because they want to be nice and contribute something to the community, not because they're chained to a dungeon wall somewhere deep within Ambrosia HQ and tortured by electroshock and acid if they don't make plug-ins to the demanding standards of the community.

Well Terek, the problem isn't when something needs to use all the features of the engine, but rather when something uses all the features of the engine for the sake of using all the features of the engine.

As UE mentioned there are people who just want to be nice... I count to these people

I hope that others stop thinking now that I just use all these features because they there - I use it because they are needed. As mentioned above I want to give the player more options while he is playing.

But isnt that complicated to say aynway? I mean how can you know if someone makes a plug that just use the features because they are there compared to the one who use them because of the fact that he needs them to let something work probably? I dont have telepathic abilities... so how do you guys get your information about something like that?
IMO it isnt bad to have the first mentioned person in our community... think about it: If they just work out ways to use masses of features it would be helpfull for all of us too because we than know about this features and can use them in our projects in a far better way since others have tested them before. To me it seems like we have reached a new planet but there are people who dont want to leave their little village they founded. But unfortunately if someone else leave the village to find new places, some food or maybe aliens they are hated just because they want to explore the new world. That sucks! (sorry)
The world won`t be how it is today if we had limited us like this...

Yes -- Terek explores new features and tricks to give Nova players new experiences. If you'd rather see these goodies embedded in longer mission strings, fine -- but you can act on that philosophy simply by playing other plugs. If anyone feels that Terek should be discouraged from releasing his plugs (and I'm not sure anyone is actually saying this), I'd say that is misguided -- a lot of players clearly appreciate what he does.

As for myself, I find the PlugPack an interesting source to study when I'm looking for examples to help me understand how various Nova features work and interact.

Having working Nova features not found in the standard scenario can indeed prove useful to the plug maker, it makes them better documented; especially, is there a plug featuring a working keycarried?
