      Haven't been here in a while, so I don't know if this has been brought up before.

      I was browsing around ResExcellence looking for some spiffly GUI mods when I found a link to an app called ResFool. Resource editor for OSX. Anyone tried it? Heard of it? Good things? Bad things?

      Well, it's not free...

      Looks good, though I'm not sure if it's Nova-Tools compatible.

      Mission Computers also pretty good.

      If you're careful enough with ResEdit, it won't crash. I routinely work on very large files, and hardly ever have a problem. Just save often.

      My problem is that I have to reboot into 9 in order to do plug editting(Classic crashes whenever I try and start it).

      That is strange, something must be misconfigured. I always do all my work in classic and never have any problems.

      Make sure you have the latest versions of 9 and X, and get rid o any extraneous extensions and control panels in classic.

      Take 20 minutes one day and reinstall it. 🙂 I screwed X over about a month ago, and so reinstalled instead of spending days trying to fix it, and decided to wipe the drive and do a custom install of everything , just for the hell of it... I've got pretty much the bare basics on 9, and only what I will ever use on X. In doing so, 9 starts up very fast, has no extension conflicts (not much to conflict with.. ;)), and I saved about 3 Gigs of space on my HD. Do a "clean" install of 9, and then move the preferences you still use from the old 9 system folder into your new one. It couldn't hurt, and only took 2.3 hours to completely reinstall Panther, 9, and all my old apps (External HD's are useful. ;)) Of that, the 9 install took only 14 minutes.

      On topic:

      If you need to pay for it, you may as well use EVONE and MC. Both are native in X, and EVONE is pretty much a good ten bucks cheaper. Between the two of them, you can pretty much edit every resource without a hitch.
