    • questions...yet again

Okay...now that I've completed all quests and received wonderful items as a Conjuror with all the plug-ins.....I'm confused about some things. The RoD and Evoke Life spell...both of which I had...and now do not. Do they disappear after you have used them?? It seems at one point after using RoD...I still had it...then during one of my saves and reloading...it was gone...along with the evoke life spell...(although I luckily had did what I needed to to get my "prize") Is this normal???

I was playing two saved games in the event something went wrong with the other...which has happened to me once too often. I was saving one over the other at different intervals as I accomplished things. One of my games just will not load back again at all...I try to load it and nothing happens...nothing at all...just refuses to do anything....that game still had the spells I believe.

Anyway...is it normal to lose them after you use them...and has anyone had this game go awry after using either of those spells???

Thanks in advance (On dual 450mhz OS9.2)

    • You may only use them once. You only need them once.

    • When you cast the spell you will have a message explaining why you can only cast these spells once as well.

    • Thanks Slav and Stark. I guess, once again, in the "flurry" of mouse clickin' , I miss out on some dialouge boxes. Must be a more careful mage : )

      Please do.

Not to sound bitchy or anything(really, I'm not!), and I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I very, very rarily write anything for fluff. If I have a message box pop up it is meant to be read. If you choose to ignore it then you choose to ignore the information that I meant for you to see. That is a choice you have to make. But what I give to the player to read I expect it to be read. Many things may spring up from that piece of information and, if you don't read it, you will miss out on things that I have designed for you.

      🙂

    • Don't worry how you sound stark, if I spent time writing something for a plug I was making, I would sure want everyone to read it too!

    • Oh I agree Stark...I didn't mean to not read it...but as I say...I get all clicky with the mouse when I'm fighting and in my haste not to die...I overclick and the dialouge goes by me. I need to be more careful, but I never was really good at the controlling the buttons stuff. Heck, my youngest daughter can do it better than me!!! I'm sure the more I play, the better I will get at it...I certainly don't want to miss any of those clues!!!

Btw...that SoL is an awesome tool!!! Now that does prevent me from "overclicking"!!

One thing you might want to try - I keep one hand on the Z & X keys and navigate with the arrow keys and only use the mouse to click on the inventory button, or dialogue boxes, etc. This way, when a box pops up, I have to conciously move my hand to the mouse to get rid of it on the screen. It would allow you the chance to read before it's gone. If you are going to change play patterns, you might want to go somewhere easy (like filled with goblins) until the method feels comfortable. ~RD

Thanks for the idea...I'm sure I'll fumble on that a while too...but I have my ranger and swordsmen still to quest with and practice the technique on. ---I'd finished the swordsman before and almost had the ranger done...but lost both the files in a crash... so to speak : ( ---

In battle, hold the Z key down and tap with the X to strike blows. 🙂

P.S. Did you read your e-mail?

I'll definately try that out....it's just kind of hard with the way my keyboard sits in the tray...I'm a tall lady and I've never really gotten myself into a comfortable position with this desk and chair and I also find my Mac's keyboard to be kinda tiny...but I'll work at it....maybe it will help with my attemps to play guitar too ...hee hee!!

Just now did check the email and have promptly replied!!! : )
