it seems every time i open or close a rescource in evnew, it deletes the last character entered. (if i open a desc rescouce 5 times, it will delete 5 characters off the end of the text) this gets annoying because i have to re-enter things every time i want to check a rescouce. could someone tell me why this is happening, and if there is a way to fix it?

Mabey this would explain why you were having all those other problems. Where did you get a "test version" without being on the closed beta team?
Just so ya know, it went something like this:
EVN closed beta 1.0.0 to 1.0.6
EVN public beta 1.0.0 - 1.0.1
The current version is public beta 1.0.1, with 1.0.2 almost ready.
If you were using any of the closed beta versions, that would explain all your problems. There were closed-beta versions that crashed if you closed a resource editor, had strange corruption problems, and that summoned evil beasts from the depths of hell. That is why they wernt released - Adam had us beta people find all the nasty bugs before he started the public beta.
More interesting is the question of where you might have gotten a version of EVNEW from the closed beta.

FYI, the bug was in the initial and fixed in 1.0.1. Always keep up-to-date with your software, if at all possible.
