    • Apronsef's editor is beautiful. I truely hope he continues to support it and add features to it, even after releasing it to the public. A drag-and-drop system editor would be extremely nice.

And, as an added bonus, he'll be enjoying a virtual monopoly over this 'market' for quite a while. That should allow him time to make the editor a force to be reckoned with.

    • Might I suggest that you make the various "Availible Stellar" "Return Stellar" etc. Something like:
      Availible From: (PulldownMenu1) (Value1) (PairedValue)
Where PulldownMenu1 has the folowing options:
      Any Stellar
      Specific Stellar
      Adjacent Stellar
      Random Stellar of This Government
Random Stellar of This Government's Allies
Random Stellar of This Government's Enemies
Random Stellar Not of This Government
Random Stellar of This Government or Its Classmates
Random Stellar Not of This Government or Its Classmates
And then Value1 would either be a text-field where you could enter an ID# or a Name, or a pulldown menu of all of the relevent pieces of of information (IE: Stellar Names, Government Names, etc). Then the PairedValue would auto-fill the ID# if you have a name, or the name if you enter an ID#.

Then, based on what you enter in the two imput fields, the program would compute the actual entered value.

Perhaps you could have various modes? But maybe that's a bit complex for the first version.

    • One other thing about MissionComputer is that editing wëap resources is a pain. NovaTools is really good that way. If Mission Computer were to have a editor for the wëap resource, I would use it almost exclusively (except for the mass-copying of files with the Unique ID, which I also use A LOT.)

      (begin tangent)

I'm currently working on a plugin that creates new variants and edits existing ones from what Nova has already, expanding your choices. It doesn't seem like Nova has enough this way, especially when compare with EVO, which allowed you to configure your ship very well depending on who you were fighting. Vs Humans, Phase weapons...etc.

Nova doesn't have the tools (weapons) for dealing with many different situations. You have your basic turrets, missiles, and guns, but they are all basically the same. What I'm creating is new types of weapons, such as a swarming missile (Freespace & FS2 Hornets, for those of you who have played that.) This sort of thing requires a Unique ID feature, as well as a wëap editor like NovaTools. Aside from these two things, for me MissionComputer is the best thing there is.

      (end tangent)

... MissionComputer is invaluable for editing dëscs, and outfits, but if the Unique ID feature was included, Watch Out!

And that would explain the EVNEW name.

So obviously then it wasn't your editor. Oh well. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I know my description was pretty vague but if I knew about it then I'm certain someone else did. I think it entered testing shortly after MC was released for OS X.

Ahhh, nevermind. I found the (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/webboard/Forum9/HTML/003758.html")thread(/url). It was Kane's editor NovaLord. Which brings me back to the question, does anyone know what became of it?

I actually did one a long time ago on my plug-in guide, but by now it is badly outdated.. perhaps I should update it with the new version information.
