    • Odd Message?

I keep getting this message when I get near the end of the vellos storyline. Specifically the attack on the polaris homeworld. When I land I get a message that says "Just a reminder that you need to register to get any further storylines. Thank You" I have checked my plugins and here is a list of them. ((AuroranWGFix 105-6.rez, Licenses-Ranks.rez, Skinnys Second Chance.rez, Slayer.rez, Universal Map 1.rez, WinterTemptestTurreted.rez, Late Restart.rez, Clear 46 (sigma).rez, Re-rescue Operative.rez, Ship Variants 106.rez, Laser Fix.rez, VellosFix.rez, Sol Research Labs 1.0.rez, Multiple Strings.rez)) A number of these are supposed fixes for glitches but I would like any input possible. The Sol Research Labs one I am curently editing and changing from it original and I will be sure to give thanks to those appropriate for that but this message was there before this plugin was added. Any one know anything or have suggestions?

    • what its saying is that you need to buy the game to go on to more missions.

    • No, otherwise the plugins won't work and Captain Hector would be tailing me all the time. I paid and got my License code and it worked the first time I played the Vellos mission without plugins. Anyone know which is causing the message and how do I get rid of it?

    • OK, lets sort the conflicts.

Vell-os Fix was for 1.0.0, it is now very obsolete
Sol Reseach labs was for 1.0.3, I think it has issues
Licenses as Ranks was 1.0.0, if I remember right, it was doing funnies in 1.0.2
Pull everything above. Use the Datafiles in ResEdit/EVONE/MC to figure out conflicts.

I havent heard of Lazer fix, Auroran/WG fix*, Late Restart, or Multiple Strings. Pull these. (Pull the Auroran/WG fix after pulling everything else and firing up Nova again)

Ship Variants is known to work. Slayer I think works. WTT should work

Clear b46, Skinny's Second Chance, and Re-Rescue operative are one time use, pull these until you need them.

Having a pile of plugs in drastically increases the odds that they will conflict. The golden rule is to have only what you need in terms of plugs in the plug-ins folder.

    • Note I am running on PC. I have fixed Sol Labs and recreated many things in that plugin. It works and this message popped up before I had that plug.

    • Thanks for everyones help. It was the Vellos Fix plugin that was causing the message. Note to everyone interested in new missions, planets, outfits and weapons. I am making a plugin based off of Sol Research Labs and Liberty Center. New Missions new Planet pops up in a very unusual way. Keep watching for a post with news on the plugin.

Yep. Check the Bible. There's a bit for whether they registered.

There's also a wild-card value (i.e. the <PN>, <PNN>, <PSN>, <PST>, etc. things you put in descs for unknown information) for the name it's registered to. If unregistered, it defaults to "UNREGISTERED."

How in the world it would end up defaulting to that, I've no clue. But that's what it says.

    • Oh, and by the way, don't be surprised if a moderator moves this board. This really belongs on the Nova board as it has to do with help for the game, not development for it.

In any case, good luck with the plug-in. Let's hope it doesn't turn into vaporware. 🙂

b30. (I think :p) To check if the game is registered, you use P30.

The name fields actually don't affect registration at all since you can name your character anything and the name it's registered to isn't your pilot's name - unless of course you make it so.

      Oh really?
      Damn.
I better update it, after-all I am the creator of said plug-in....
It would be great if people could email specific problems if you have any, just email me at:
Oh yeah just so you know, I never expected lots of people to download that plug.
I may end up updating it eventually (i.e when I'm not busy working)
Also I don't plan on creating a windows version, mainly beacuase its an old plug-in.
I created it during EVN 1.0.2, mainly as an experiment.

    • Blue Star: Most, if not all of those fix plugins address issues that were solved long before the windows release. You should not need any of them.

Gazza: People can convert the plug themselves, it takes only a few moments to do it as far as I understand it.

There's no bits for the game being registered or not, b30 isn't used for the registration test.
P30 mean "Is the game registered, or unregistered for least than 30 days ?"
And the name defaulting to "UNREGISTERED" is the tag <reg>, which return the name under which you registered Nova, or UNREGISTERED if Nova is unregistered. This tag is only used in the "Info" window, accessible from the main menu.

Of course, as said, you can find all these informations (and a huge lot more) in the Nova Bible.
